"Well written but sort of a downer"
I started this one, but could not finish. I found the characters a bit depressing. Who cares if murderers and white supremecist wife abusers see the ghosts of dead people? I would've liked it more if it hooked me with decent sympathetic characters instead of bigots and cheats. Not my cuppa tea.
"couldn't get into it"
This read like buffy/spike fanfic. I couldn't get into this girl or her trauma, and the narrator was not the best.
"Awesome"
If you like long epics you'll like World War. This is a fun alternate universe where earth is invaded by 'lizards' a race of alien reptiles. Be warned, the author is a 'multiple POV switcher' so just when you get used to one character's viewpoint it switches. Often without notice.
I only wish audible would produce the next one in the series. There are four total:
Worldwar Tetralogy
In the Balance (1994)
Tilting the Balance (1995)
Upsetting the Balance (1996)
Striking the Balance (1996)
"Boring"
I disliked this one. I found the main character, Mace to be one of those snarky, loud chip-on-the-shoulder females authors are churning out these days. The mystery just didn't enthuse me, as did her relationship with the basketball player. Meh. There are better action novels out there. Avoid
"Subject matter not to my taste"
I am a big armstrong fan, so I'm sorry to say this one was too dark for me. Pedophilia and the abuse of incest-born retarded people just made me delete this one from my ipod. Sorry. Don't want to read more about that.
"Intriguing"
This was an intriguing bio of one of the most powerful and influential British queens. I particularly liked how the author treated Albert/Victoria and their relationship. This was a wonderful and entertaining book. I recommend to all.
"Loved it!"
I really loved this novel. Although its a zombie book, it really is more of an action/suspense story. All the characters like Sherman, Styles, etc. are really entertaining. I particularly like Sherman. The world of Morningstar is very believable. I recommend this novel to those who enjoy action stories featuring military characters and those who like post-apocalyptic fiction. I'm only disappointed it is over.
"I got to the scene with the necrophilia"
This was an okay book, until I got to the scene with necrophilia and then I just could listen to no more. There are some things that even King shouldn't touch.
"Didnt' like this"
I like nautical fiction, but I found myself disinterested in the story because of the main characters rather unrepetant adultery. There are times I don't mind this trope- If the ex is a shrew, but I don't want to read about good people being cheated on. I couldn't finish.
"Surprisingly boring"
I thought this might be an interesting book, but I found it rather dull. I gave up listening after a while and moved on to something bettter.
