I don't understand the vanity that it takes, for an author to spend so much time writing a book, then stumble over their own words while reading!!
I returned after a week, could not finish!!
The characters and the story are so shallow, its hard to believe there are people listening to the other books in the series.... In fact I'm retuning it after writing this review....
What a great way to write a book!! So many times through the book I found myself OMGing.... Really really really hate the ending but the ride was soooo worth it!!
This book could have been a short story. He bought a property then he bought some cows... done... ..
There was about an hour talking about cheese.... No, no not how to make it... just about the different types of cheese....
Buy Growing Ground.. Much, much, much better...
I really liked this book, I enjoyed the way Forrest kept persevering when things looked worst... The family could have taken the easy out and sold some of the property, but wanted to keep the family farm together.
I think SK is getting soft... Not to be a spoiler, but NONE of the good guys die!!
The bad guys are great and the story is wonderful, however the bad guys do things that they wouldn't do... They are 1000 year old creatures, who would have had to learn from mistakes over low those many years, but the leader makes the same mistakes over and over... I thought SK was setting constant reader up for a huge twist... but it never came...
Im satisfied but I wanted more!!
Having spent years growing older with these characters, its nice to see they are feeling the years too!!
Pity Mr Clancy died before his time, however I look forward to the book that's already done.
Really enjoyed the story, lots of information about Mary Magdalene that I had no idea about!! Very thought provoking!!
Oh and Paul Michael is the best!!
I had seen the movie before I read (heard) the book so the I knew what was coming but still enjoyed it very much!!
Unlike Angels and Demons, where I could picture the Sistine Chappell, and the Vatican... and Davinci Code, where I could picture the Mona Lisa, The Lovre and theLast supper... Dante's work I never spent a moment thinking about. I have no familiarity with the Devine Comedy.... and at the end I didn't have any desire to find out any more.
By the end I was looking forward to getting this book over and done with!!
I guess there are just so many symbols, and DB has burned thru the interesting ones...
Paul Michael's voice however is great!!
After listening to both the Davinci code and Angels and Demons and LOVING them both... I couldn't wait to start listening..... OK this book was written at the beginning of the cyber revolution... this book talks to you about the internet and computers, the way you would talk to a pre schooler... I listened to only half of the book and found myself yelling at the radio to GET ON WITH IT!! There is NO WAY I will finish this book.....
