  • What Would Machiavelli Do?: The Ends Justify the Meanness

The focus of What Would Machiavelli Do? is on what works and how to get it done. Machiavellians may not get to heaven, but on earth they have a significant edge over the competition. The goal is to learn how to approach problems in a manner that is at once creative, geared toward achieving financial success, and refreshingly amoral.

I didn't know what to expect from this book, a history lesson, a how to guide. It's both and neither. It's just a funny condemnation of greed in our modern corporate culture.

You know you're passionate about your speaking/training/consulting business, but some parts are draining. How can you discern which parts you have "juice" for and which you don't? How can you do more of the former and less of the latter without losing business? How can you know if the marketplace will buy what you want to do? And finally, how do you find and go after those who will pay you handsomely to do only the parts you are passionate about?

This is a teleconference phone call that someone had recorded. I gave it one star because she did mention the topic but it's really her talking about her business which is public speaking. I can't believe they want to charge seventeen bucks for this! They really misrepresented this. It's less than an hour long and most of that is dead air where you can hear the people on the phone playing on their computers

I'll some up the entire book for you. Buy some manilla folders and a label maker. The end.
