"Fabulous Listen!"
As usual, I was completely entertained with the narrator as well as the story of this Anthony Trollope novel. The characters are so alive. I usually listen to books-on-ipod when I am sewing: I found myself stopping just to really listen to the action of this novel!
"Enjoy your Job not the Prestige"
I liked the Plantagenet Palliser storyline in that people today must deal with decisions regarding life quality versus job prestige.
I was a bit disappointed with the Ferdinand Lopez storyline. I really did not feel that it was characteristic of that type of character to choose that way of ending life. I think that he would more convincingly have taken some others with him.
Nevertheless, as always, a very entertaining book! Well read by Timothy West.
"The luck of the Irish"
This book validates that well worn phrase "the luck of the Irish". The great metropolis, London, is Phineas' oyster. This poor, son of an Irish doctor, has prime ministers, beautiful wealthy women at his feet. What a guy, what a story. I just loved listening to it. Thank you Mr West for the great narration and thank you Mr Trollope for the great and so witty story.
"Very Nice Story"
Incredibly entertaining. I felt he gave away a bit of the plot mid-novel but all in all a good listen.
"Wow!"
Just such a wonderful story.
As always: when in doubt listen to a Dickens novel!
Thank you Mr Timson for your wonderful performance!
"Bitter-sweet"
Great ending to a great series!
The narrator did have quite a chalenge: so many characters and so many dragons to give voices to.
I was very happy with the way Paolini painted out the aftermath of the final battle...but I would have liked a different ending for the Nasuada/Mortag story line.
"Not able to download!"
I can only download Part 1 of this book. I've tried over and over again to download the second and third part but they refuse to import! What to do?
"Becky Sharp, the woman we love to hate"
Great story; much better than the movie.
Had Becky Sharp been born in 1975, she would have been congratulated and esteemed!
"Great Fun"
What a fantastic listen! Lizzie Eustace is a woman that you learn to hate and also to love. All the characters of this novel are well drawn and delightful.
We listened to this while driving across the country (Canada). It made the trip fly by!
"What a great story!"
I just love this book. Absolutely delightful! Masterpiece Theater should adapt this story for the screen.
