I really enjoyed the main character and her courage to continue on through all of the tough times in her life.
When she was fired from her job as a translator. It rocked her world so profoundly.
I am a big Barbara Rosenblat fan and have been for years. I have found many good books by searching for her name as the audio reader instead of the author! She lends such truth to the stories. She is a truly engaging storyteller.
I very much enjoyed it - it was good company for many knitting evenings!
Poignant, well-written, engaging
*Spoiler alert* When Miss Isabelle arrives at the funeral home & for whom she is there to see.
Everything!!! They are great performers!
The story was so well-written, the characters so full & vibrant, that I could see them, feel their pain, their joys, and their sorrow - all characteristics of a GOOD book!
This book was a pleasant surprise. I had no recommendations for it & just listened on a guess that it would suit me - I'm so glad I did!
Thoughtful, interesting, & a good story
I like the way the author mixes the thoughts of the two main characters with the present day situations - you feel like you are in their heads & seeing what is tormenting them. I have read this book before & I always root for the main characters to find peace!
When Becky finds all of the sweaters in Shaun's house.
This book is not just for knitters. Lovers of Ireland, family, & community will enjoy it too!
I have been enjoying this book but can't listen for too long because it is a little creepy - in a good way!
It has the same feel as "The Time-Traveler's Wife." The stories are not at all alike but they are so engrossing that it is hard to stop listening. They are both very unique and full of detail which holds my interest greatly!
When the main character finds out that she is a twin.
The second time around I am finding that I must not have listened very well before! It is so full of extremes that you don't have time to stop gasping before the next moment claims you. I have cringed and gasped but not cried or laughed.
I love how the three characters are connected in the story but not in the story line.
The story of nature and humans - how we are all connected and all important.
This is my favorite and I have listened to it many times - especially in the summer!
I love when the old man and old lady come together. I am so touched too by the widow adopting the two children and saving the farm - so touching!
This is my favorite of her books - I have read or tried to read all of her books - and I love it every time I listen. I also learned a lot about coyotes and bugs!
Interesting characters, wonderful detail, set in countries that I would love to visit!
Too many to list - I love the attention to detail and the feeling that I am there with the characters.
Each character stands out from the others - she has a different voice for each character.
I have listened to this book so many times over the years - I love to listen to it during winter breaks from work. It is too long to listen in one sitting but is good company for many days.
Lynne Redgrave has read a lot of Rosamunde Pilcher's books. They are so much fun - such good company - you want to meet the characters in person.
