"Reader ruins marginal story"
The narration was not right for Harry. Edgar, his partner has no nuance to his voice. If Dick Hill was reading this I would try and finish. Major disappointment for a big Harry Bosch fan.
New reader.
New reader.
What a waste of a credit.
This book is not Audible worthy. I will take Connelly off my preorder list. What was I thinking.
"Two thumbs up!"
I enjoyed hearing how Ebert gained his fame. Many of the stories and anecdotes about famous people are interesting. I was a big fan of his show and still to this day value his reviews over anyone else's.
His reading makes this book much more enjoyable. This could have been a dry, slow collection of old stories but the narration makes this very easy to listen to.
As another reviewer said the first one third of the book is a bit slow. The repetition of some stories is odd. Overall it was an easy listen and if you are an Ebert fan you should enjoy this book.
"Reacher to the rescue again!"
Reacher doing the things he does. Explaining to people why he only owns a toothbrush. Intimidating people with his 6'5" size. (Interested to see if 5'7" Tom Cruise can pull that off in the movie version of one of the Reacher books)
Just about every Lee Child book in the Reacher series.
Dick does a lot of books and almost always nails it.
No.
As with all of the Reacher books it was easy to listen to, well researched, and full of twists.
"Starts off strong and fizzles into a comic book"
The narration almost saves this but the slaps at Obama, the comic book ending, and suspension of belief needed to follow this ending made it a disappointment.
"A very nice, easy listen!"
I started this and had to listen to it all at once. Ray Porter does a great job with the narration.
"Reacher is a dull dude now."
Disjointed. Not a good effort. I think Lee Child has sold this series to somebody. Not even close to the other books. Skip it unless you are like me and buy each one as soon as they come out.
"An epic adventure."
Fantastic. Best listen I have had in years. Listening was like a drug I had to have. I am sorry its over.
43 hours and not a dull minute. I got onto Google. Earth to follow Linnbaba in his travels. Thought provoking on many levels. Humphrey Bower does a delightful job. I got to this book after listening to him on the Bryce Courtenay books The Power of One, Tandia, Potato Factory and more.
I can't get enough of that Aussie accent.
Enjoy.
"Wonderful"
Very cativating and inspiring story. I have new respect for the Dutch patriots durring WWII as well as the resourcefulness that the Jewish people used to survive.
"Wonderful listen."
This is well worth your time. Well written and well read.
"Captivating"
I enjoyed this book and found it very entertaining. The reader has a wonderful accent. Yes the idea of having an unrelated identical twin is unlikely but I just went with it and loved the whole book.
