"An incredible work of fantasy fiction!"

An incredible work of fantasy fiction! It is so rare to find an author who can master plot and go deep in character. She describes this world so well and in such detail while masterfully moving the plot forward so as to not bog the reader down.

The Narrator, Victor Bevine, has the ability to bring forth several different voices for each character, intimately knowing each character and matching tone and intention perfectly.

I feel like I lived inside this world! Bravo!

  • A Feast for Crows: A Song of Ice and Fire, Book IV

    • UNABRIDGED (31 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By George R. R. Martin
    • Narrated By John Lee

It is not long before the survivors, outlaws, renegades, and carrion eaters start to gather, picking over the bones of the dead and fighting for the spoils of the soon-to-be dead. Now in the Seven Kingdoms, as the human crows assemble over a banquet of ashes, daring new plots and dangerous new alliances are formed, while surprising faces, some familiar, others only just appearing, are seen emerging from an ominous twilight of past struggles and chaos to take up the challenges ahead.

    Aaron says: "No Roy Dotrice"

John Lee is decent reader for science fiction (Pandoras Star) but not for fantasy. Bring Dotrice ASAP!

  • The Well of Ascension: Mistborn, Book 2

The impossible has been accomplished. The Lord Ruler - the man who claimed to be god incarnate and brutally ruled the world for a thousand years - has been vanquished. But Kelsier, the hero who masterminded that triumph, is dead too, and now the awesome task of building a new world has been left to his young protégé, Vin, the former street urchin who is now the most powerful Mistborn in the land, and to the idealistic young nobleman she loves.

    "From Courageous to Cowardly"

The first book showed how smart, crafty and courageous the characters were against the Lord Ruler. In the second book, the author turns them into inept cowards. In short, these characters (who are master thieves) would NEVER be so docile and ineffective in the face of such a struggle. I couldn't connect with the characters I fell in love with from the first book as they were too stupid to live. Also, the author should have researched details of Medieval combat as it would have increased the realism of this siege story. What a lost opportunity! If they make this series into a movie(s) they will have to rewrite the second book or the producers will lose their butts. Narrator was fantastic!

    • By Gregory David Roberts
    • Narrated By Humphrey Bower

This mesmerizing first novel tells the epic journey of Lin, an escaped convict who flees maximum security prison in Australia to disappear into the underworld of contemporary Bombay. Accompanied by his guide and faithful friend, Prabaker, Lin searches for love and meaning while running a clinic in one of the city's poorest slums and serving his apprenticeship in the dark arts of the Bombay mafia. The keys to unlock the mysteries that bind Lin are held by two people: his mentor Khader Khan, mafia godfather and criminal-philosopher; and the beautiful, elusive Karla, whose passions are driven by dangerous secrets.

Jamie says: "Do Not Miss This"

Wow, what an amazing story! Deep, adventurous, philosophical, rich in detail. A masterpiece! The reader handles 12 different accents perfectly. This is a book you have to get from Audible to bring the Indian and Muslim characters to life with their syntax and accents. WARNING - Once you start, you can't turn it off.
