The fact that it is a true story made it hard to stop listening. Loved the main character, Thad Roberts.
The actual heist.
Since I had seen Casey Affleck movies, the narration felt like a movie.
It is probably the first book where I sided with the person who is portrayed as the bad guy - Thad Roberts and disliked the person who is portrayed as the hero - Axel Emmermann.
The upper end of the middle third
Threading between the past and present.
Use of a British accent to narrate a Danish writer's work badly hurt this book for me. Erik Davies who did the first book was excellent with the Danish accent and I looked forward to this second book. I don't know why the audio publisher made such a regressive change.
Hunters becoming hunted.
Please request audio publisher to re-record the audiobook with Erik Davies.
High up. I loved the Millenium trilogy and was sad that there wouldn't be any more Steig Larson novels due to his death. I am happy again because of this novel.
Millenium trilogy books by Steig Larson. The Scandinavian setting for these crime thrillers.
The Danish accent was so pleasing to hear. It takes the crime thriller and transports the reader into an exotic land.
Help, Dept Q
Want to see more of Jussi Adler-Olsen's writing
No. The suspense wouldn't be there the second time.
Yes. Rapid pace of events in the book.
The siege of 1600
Top 10 percentile
Yes. The constant up and down between the good and the bad.
No, too long for that.
The relentnesness of the drones.
The eerie suspense. The fact that he read Daemon and FreedomTM gives a kind of continuity.
Yes. Always recommend true stories.
Life of Pi by Yann Martel. The part about being lost at sea and surviving is strikingly similar.
The experience of joy and sadness can be felt in the voice.
Many moments in the book moved me.
The insight that Sarah brings to what she observed in India.
There were many - her views on the Tibetean exiles living there, her interactions with the Israeli's she found there..
It did bring out a lot of emotion.
Tina Fey - there really aren't any other characters in the book
She makes the book match her screen performances.
I think the world has already seen it - her performances on SNL and 30 Rock are pretty much the book
One of the finest books I have read. Spans 3 continents. Spans the whole range of emotions.
