Clint Hill did an awesome job of describing his relationship with the first lady, the president and their children. It was good to hear that he felt that their life and their relationship was as ideal as most of us thought it was. His agony was obvious as he spoke of that fateful day when the president was shot. I was 12 at the time of Kennedy's death and it was weird and sad to think about what a different, more innocent world we lived in then. Mr Hill did an awesome job of describing those times and showing what a delightful lady Jacci was. Clint is from my home state so that made this book doubly interesting. I would definitely recommend this.
I loved the narration and the premise of this book which was time travel to change history. I do not like horror stories and mistakenly thought that was what Stephen King wrote. Was I ever wrong, this was not horror but more like science fiction. Interesting premise to want to go back in time to change major events. Well written and well narrated. I would definitely recommend this. Both of my daughters said this was their favorite Stephen King book.
My hometown was Epping ND and they had a losing streak of over 90 games lost in Class B boys basketball in the 1960's. They went on to take second place in the state tournament in 1976 so I identified with this very small town and a team with no bench and the fact that boys basketball is king in these small towns. The narrator was a bit irritating at first but I grew to like him. Loved this story of life in a small town and how people rally to support the under-dogs. This story was fairly predictable but a good read to pass the time as I have been in the car a lot lately. I would definitely recommend it.
Well written, interesting story. Can't wait for the Hunger Games movie to come out. Great narration.
At first when I realized it was as if the dog were speaking and thinking, I wasn't sure if I would like it as I had tried a different book with a dog narrating recently and didn't like it BUT this was way different and a wonderful tale. Both well written and well read.
I resisted listening to these books because I had the mistaken impression that they would be too weird for my taste. Was I ever wrong--they are wonderful thrillers and difficult to put down. I also hesitate to read or listen to series because I'm often bored by the second book but not so in this case. I can't wait to listen to book number 3 although I'm also reluctant to start it because I don't want it be be over. If you like thrillers and like cheering for those who are oppressed, you will like these books.
Very interesting premise to this book and very well written. Excellent production for the audiobook. I was at first irritated with the voice of the child and almost quit listening but once I got the drift of it, really enjoyed it. Thought provoking.
