  • Steve Jobs

    • UNABRIDGED (25 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Walter Isaacson
    • Narrated By Dylan Baker

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

    Jeanne says: "Interesting man"
    "Great "read""

I have used Macs for since 1988 in my profession as a graphic artist, but I have never really be a freak who had to tune into every speech Jobs ever made. I did want to learn more about the man who through his creativity and innovation, made it possible for me to have a great career. The book is a fine biography. It's very balanced, and exposes the good, bad and ugly of Mr. Jobs. Yeah sure, there is a mispronounced word here and there, but I have found this in all audio books. I heard this book over the course of 4 days, at work, working on my new Mac, listening on my iPhone 4. I could not stop playing it. GREAT READ.

  • No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 54 mins)
    • By Mark Owen, Kevin Maurer
    • Narrated By Holter Graham
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

From the streets of Iraq to the mountaintops of Afghanistan and to the third floor of Osama Bin Laden's compound, operator Mark Owen of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group - commonly known as SEAL Team Six - has been a part of some of the most memorable special operations in history, as well as countless missions that never made headlines. No Easy Day puts listeners alongside Owen and the other handpicked members of the 24-man team as they train for the biggest mission of their lives.

Darwin8u says: "Gripping, first-hand narrative of Op Neptune Spear"
"Great story, no national secrets compromised."

I don't know what all the fuss is about, other than the fact that the story from a guy who was THERE contradicts the "official" political spin.

This is a direct accounting of what happened, without any national secrets divulged. The author's motives for writing this down are simple. He didn't like the way that politics started to spin inaccurate stories about what happened in the raid. I am glad he wrote this story.

If you like action and adventure, you will enjoy this book.

  • This Is Herman Cain!: My Journey to the White House

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 38 mins)
    • By Herman Cain
    • Narrated By Herman Cain

Growing up poor in the segregated south, Herman Cain describes how he pulled himself out of the depths of poverty and became successful. In this memoir, Cain answers his most often-asked question: Who is Herman Cain?

    W. Max Hollmann says: "Boring and self-indulgent"

I don't know how far Mr. Cain will go, but his biography was entertaining and genuine. Hearing Mr. Cain read it is all the better.

  • The Captain's Bride: The Northern Lights, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By Lisa Tawn Bergren
    • Narrated By Stephanie Brush
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

They traveled to America in search of freedom and prosperity. Elsa Anders' dream of marrying Peder Ramstad is about to come true. Can this strong-willed, creative woman with a love for independence, adventure, and the sea, find happiness with a captain who insists upon leaving her safely on shore? This is the first audiobook in the Northern Lights Series.

Helen says: "Pleasant but not daring enough!"

I agree with most of the first reviewer's comments. I was really confounded with the war certain story lines did not end. Even the end of the book brought no real conclusion. The book wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good. As far as the religion aspect, most of the prayers were part of what those truly devout people would have done in the face of adversity.
