The author has a good concept... the main character over thinks himself and the heroine's thoughts make you chuckle. Not bad...
A good story with less talk about NOTHING. The story was NOT advanced much AT ALL.
Debatable...if he treats his other books like THIS one...he just "mailed it in".
I would have made the Author go back and WRITE a story...not just cut and paste parts from other books.
I am so disappointed with this installment. The Presidential Agent series is a good one...I would have said very good but "This was TERRIBLE", I purchased this because I just KNEW W.E.B. Griffin would not just "Mail in" an installment. This was real money used.
yes I will try another book.
This book started off VERY slow as far as the Dirk Pitt series is concerned. It seemed to get lost in telling an alternate story with auxillary characters and no MAIN characters. It was like another author was writing the first part of the book and did not have the concept of why Dirk and Al work so well together. In the second half of the book it got back on the winning formula and narrative. If you can pain through the first part you will be rewarded for your tenacity and end up with a good story.
Scott Brick IS THE PERSON TO READ THESE STORIES... his timing is perfect for the Dirk Pitt series.
It does not need a follow-up because I could not go through another lack luster beginning.
I can tell the difference in the writing styles of the authors, please do not attempt to put an alternate style of writing in these series... stick to what works...Make another series of books to do the alternate style of writing.
I have to admit that I was pleasantly suprised at how well I enjoyed this. The narrator was very good and at first you think that Shaq is really telling this. You do get the feeling that Shaq loves himself and that no one will ever be like him....But that's Shaq. A GOOD LISTEN.
Mother and Grandmother... They always kept him on point.
Shaq.... of course
The Big (...) Can you dig it...
The was that Christopher Paolini wove the story to its FIRST (hint) conclusion. All of the loose ends were tied up. (Even if some of them were not story book ending) The conclusions made sense. In listening to the reasons WHY the events happened like they did... I had to agree.
This installment is the end piece of a Masterpiece started many years ago... Congratulations!
Enders Game... Logical development... entertaining...
Eragon... this character made me MAD...Happy...sad and all of this knowing he is one-of-a-kind.
Join the adventure with characters in the same stature as AVATAR... A must see...
I took a chance on the Book because I normally read the 'Presidential Agent' Series. This is a very good read...I gives you an inside look on how People are acutally taken and used as a commodity. ENLIGHTENING
I was not disappointed because the formula for the Austin series is the same. Not as dynamic as the Dirk Pitt series but now it is progressing towards be JUST AS GOOD.
This is one book that was really delightful to listen to. I know that it had the young at heart in mind and you have to understand the fast paced thinking of it. You can start this book and be finished with it very quickly.
Well, I have to say that this book will take awhile to get through. Knowing that this come from centuries ago makes it more understandable. Maybe I was thinking that this book would really get right into saying what the myths and mythology was like...
Had to go back in the series to find out how certain characters came about... I was NOT disappointed. If you like the Dreamland series you have to have this in your library.
The story line is good but what happens during the first part of the book is somewhat lost. You might thing that he is attempting to introduce characters but Robin did not need to spend so much ink doing it. Solid story and draws you to the conclusion... wait... it didn't.
