"Not Your Usual Listen"
Not the usual read. It kept my interest throughout. The protagonist experiences a somewhat metaphysical journey through a neighborhood teenager and group of eccentrics connected to his (estranged) wife's. Echoes of past lives and life lessons are interspersed with a cast of characters that will make you smile.
"One Trick Pony"
Probably not, but the narration was excellent
Tied up nicely.
The main Character
No
Once you got the concept of the jumping the story got a little boring. It may be great for a Young Adult, but failed to hold my interest.
"Excellent Narration Cartoon Characters"
Develop the characters and reduce the melodrama.
Dead I May Well Be
This is my first but he is a very talented narrator.
Not for me.
I was fairly engaged for the first two parts but the characters became more and more unbelievable. By part 4 I gave up.
"Another lovable Amoral Character"
a fun romp
The main Character
This is my first and hopefully not my last.
Yes, I really enjoyed this world
Gotta love the concept of a soulless, but proper Victorian woman navigating those rude vampires and werewolves whom she renders powerless.
"Great Historical Fiction"
That the characters are believable in their inperfection.
The authors ability to convey time and place.
Gotta love the main guy.
Probably the little girl, as she is so wise for her years and accepting.
Pleasantly surprised. I liked it better than Heartstone and perhaps a little less than Devil in the White City, a favorite.
"Nice re-visit of Dark Tower series."
I ended up loving this series so yes; with the proviso that the whole series is read. I believe SK wants this one filed after the Wolves of Calla.
At one point I thought I am wrapped up in a story within a story within a story and loving every minute of it.
Hmm, not sure; but he is getting better at narrating his own stories. I do miss George Guidall.
Yes!
I love Stephen King's writing and ability to flesh out the characters. I was resistant to this series and did not listen to them for a while. I'm glad I finally broke down and got into these.
"Scary"
I mainly just listen to books
The insight that these folks cannot connect to others emotionally.
It really felt like the author was educating me.
That 4% of the population are sociopaths
This is a must read for those who want to understand why some "people" are always causing drama for no apparent reason. The author may be overstating the number of sociopaths, but they are out there and you need to be prepared.
"Great Insight into Introverts"
I really enjoyed this book. Being and working with a lot of introverts it provided a lot of research based insights. I enjoy learning about the psychology behind personality. The Quiet is somewhat similar to The Sociopath Next Door (Unabridged). If you like to learn what makes people tic this is one for you.
"Steam Punk YA fun"
I only experienced the audio edition but I am sure that the performance makes listening better for me.
That the author was able to make me suspend belief to this extent.
Hard to say
Wind up for a great ride.
I just picked this one up on a lark. I was not sure I could make it through something so outside my normal genres but I enjoyed the ride.
"Zombie-riffic"
I don't normally re-visit books but this would be worth an exception
The action was fast paced and I like how the protagonist is drawn into the altered reality.
Where the protagonist kills his boss.
Well yes but I need sleep.
If you like the zombie genre then this is a must listen. I need to take a break between books like this as I become too accumulated to the battles and action and stop appreciating the creativity the writer brings to these scenes. I like how the book opens and how this normal guy is drawn into this reality beneath the surface reality.
"Great Listen if you like Amoral Charactors"
Yes, but this is almost always the case with a great narrator
Dexter series as one begins to like the character(s) in spite of their distorted sense of morality. Of Mice and Men as you have two "brother-types" caring for each other despite the flaws
This is my first Pruden listen but would certainly like to hear more
No extreme reactions but enjoyed it from beginning to end
Great Character developments. Story was well paced and kept my interest.
