Better writing and better narration. Both were really, really bad.
No, I love romance novels, time travel, historical. This book was just very bad.
Never! She sounded like a computer-generated female voice. She gave no life to the characters or the story.
I read the reviews before I got this one and I can't believe that anyone liked it so much. The writing seemed so cliche, as if it was a really bad Harlequin romance from the 70's. The very monotonous narration clinched it as the worst use of a credit I have ever done at Audible.
Very enjoyable and original, not a copycat of anything I have read.
I really don't want to give any part of it away.
I haven't but I enjoyed this one. He did different accents, different languages and I could always tell who was male and who was female. That is not often the case.
I wouldn't dare.
So happy that I read others' comments about it and they turned out to be true.
I would, and have! I have listened to this book at least 10 times and enjoy it each time I hear it.
Jamie, the gorgeous warrior. Honest, strong, sexy and loyal, what's not to love?
Yes I have and to me she is the gold standard. You ALWAYS know which character is speaking in a book when she is performing.
The wedding and wedding night.
I could not love this book and performance more. It's great!
No because the narration was so terrible. The narrator had no inflection and didn't try to make the male characters sound male or the female characters distinctive.
The book itself had suspense, caused great anticipation, was incredibly enjoyable. I find most of Linda Howard's thrillers to be great and this book was no exception.
If there had been ANY performance at all it would have been better. There was no attempt to make the characters come alive.
Talented, psychic and sexy.
The story wasn't very compelling but it could have been better if the narrator had been better. There was no attempt to make the characters sound different from each other. It was like listening to a phone book being recited. Whatever charm or suspense might have been in the story, and I don't think there was much, was obliterated by the narration.
