The guy who reads this book, with his psycho-pathological over-enunciation of every word, is the most distracting, horrifying thing that could happen to an otherwise interesting book. How anyone could enjoy this is beyond me. I would honestly rather listen to a cute-voiced 5 year old read this than this clown. He's just soooooo terrible. Marcus, for the love of god, have it re-recorded by a normal person.
DIFFERENT READER!!!!!! Without the fake over-exaggerated accent. I can BARELY listen. I've heard amazing things about this book, which is the only reason I even trying to push through this nightmare reader.
I will never buy any other book in which BOZO the psycho-pathological over-enunciator reads. It's just so unbelievably bad.
It explained for me why I'm such a nut about stuff when everyone I know doesn't really care or isn't as moved by an experience or product as I think they should be. Im just more in touch w my lambic brain.
To say I'm an Apple fan is about as much of an understatement as I know how to make so I'm very biased but finally Steve comes to life in a way that makes sense...
I have a couple hundred books in my library, have listened to most of them start to finish but nothing has left me sitting in my running car, not being able to turn it off like this one... Unreal.
This book is absolutely amazing. Remove fear from your life and live in the fullest manner possible. Not exactly a how to guide for removing all of this excess fear but the examples are incredible in typical Robert Greene fashion.
I almost didn't buy this yesterday because of the scathing reviews of Dr. Hawkins' reading...
I'm glad I followed my gut on this one and purchased it. I listen to my audiobooks on my iPhone at triple speed with Audible's app. I can consume voraciously this way. For this book, I had to slow it down to 2x speed not because of Dr. Hawkins' reading but because the information is so dense. But at three times and twice the speed I had no trouble understanding him. I'm just sensing a lot of snobbery in the other reviews.
The information is mind blowing. It's all I can think about and I'm only on Chapter 3. Good luck!
I once broke up with a girl friend because she voted for this guy. I'm not his biggest fan but what I believe is that he was doing the best he could given his skill set. It's surprisingly religious. Not my cup of tea. Perhaps I should have expected that... I believe he believes what he wrote. I don't necessarily believe that it's as simple as he describes. He's very black and white. That said, he faults himself in situations in which he deserves it and he's candid about a lot of events that allowed even me, a hater, to find him very human and almost endearing. Interesting book no matter your views. I recommend it.
