"To short for how in depth the plot"
This book takes place across an entire alternate planet, two wars are being fought in several locations and new characters are being introduced. This cannot happen in a 16 hour book! After anxiously awaiting this book, it left you more on a precipice than the last, no breaks or conclusions to the story line. And so much of the little time is refreshing the reader on character traits, and situational background, very frustrating.
Write longer or wrap up some of the loose ends!
A nice 40 hour book like the King Killer Chronicles would get this book 5 stars.
"Great out of the Box story"
I know this story has some bad reviews, I just didn't see it.
The authors told a very smooth story that does not follow a typical recipe; I felt they did a great job coming up with new story line.
I didn't see this as a dull story about a meteorite, I saw it as an epic engineering story, testing man, machine, and politics.
The characters were well developed and interesting.
I would recommend you give it a chance it may surprise you.
"Good book building on more"
This book has allot of character development and is pointless in listening to unless you plan on listening to the series.
It took me more than half of this book just to gain some vested interest in the characters, and about the same time frame for the plot to unveil itself.
That said I am deep into the second book and am very glad I slogged through many beginning hours.
This book does not strap itself down to one directed theme. You will get war, politics, magic and deep understanding of the characters and what makes them who they are.
"Not worth my time commitment"
I listened to this book as it was on the recommended list of Patrick Rothfuss (my favorite author).
This was a very expensive book, and or 2 credits, I didn't feel it was justified after finishing the book.
The book spends 85% of its time building up to the pinnacle and I even felt it fell short on delivering that. At no point in this book did it keep me sitting in the driveway to listen to just a few more minutes.
There were no highs and lows to the story line, flat to small high at the end. It almost seemed to me as a dully written Lord of The Rings.
This is not to say I hated the book, I just invested allot of time into it for not allot of fulfillment; for this I would not recommend the book.
"Interesting twist on interstellar war."
This book had a very creative twist to the typical outer-space war books.
I enjoyed the many twists and turns packed into this short book; leading up to the also creative ending.
I did find the character development a little week, I left the book with very little vested interest in any character aside from the main character, and even that wasn't a great interest.
I would recommend it as it is an enjoyable out of the box listen, especially as it has a very little time commitment to complete.

"Only if you have time to kill."
If you enjoy a SCI-FI you might enjoy this book. If I were to rate this as a movie I would say it is worth renting, but probably not worth spending the money at a theater.
Aliens invading Earths orbits, with an unconventional means of destroying the enemy. Oh and "Blonds in heat" that cracked me up.
"Good summer read"
This book kept my attention, and the Narrator made it even better. This wasn’t one of those books that you just keep listening, even though you have other things to do. I break my books into dynamic story’s that I need a quite place to listen, and listen while you work. This story line was very straight forward and easy to listen to while to multitasking. I like murder mysterious, just not gory ones; this book told the story without the strong displeasing gore.
I would recommend it.
"I guess I am not a short story man"
The book was well written, but I could never get into the characters, as the stories were so short, a true charter development couldn't be reached.
"Great series, to repetitive"
I have really enjoyed the Destroyermen series; with its epic battles, fights for survival, nation building. It is a grand story told on a grand scale. However I find myself constantly annoyed at the book. The author is constantly providing character assessments, shedding introspective light, and providing background for thought. Great once maybe twice, but I was perturbed in the first book, livid in the next, flabbergasted in the third, and so on. Maybe if I had read the books a year or so apart I would have appreciated the reminders, but as I read them in succession I was just annoyed.
Despite this I would recommend the book, it has a great dynamic story told well enough to draw you into the alternate realm.
