Rising romance novelist Jamie Carie's second book tells the epic story of two unlikely soulmates who live worlds apart but soon meet and turn each other's world upside down. Drake Weston, Duke of Northumberland, is accustomed to a life of royalty until a tragic mistake followed by murderous rage results in his sudden flee from England. With a hoarde of money on which to survive, Drake hops a ship of indentured servants to America only to be robbed and taken ill by the merciless sea voyage.

    "Very interesting book"
    Overall

I like this book a lot: there are deep describing of characters, their inner world, there relations with God, their fears...It is described very real. There is humour and adventures and it is difficult to say what the end will be.

The tomb of China’s First Emperor, guarded by an underground army of terra-cotta warriors, has remained sealed for more than 2,000 years. Though it’s regarded as one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world, the Chinese government won’t allow anyone to open it. Why? That question is at the heart of a dilemma faced by former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone, whose life is shattered when he receives an anonymous note carrying an unfamiliar Web address.

When Andie tries to gain closure with her ex-husband, he asks one final favor of her. A distant cousin has died and left North the guardian of two orphans. When Andie meets the two children, she realizes the situation is much worse than she feared. Carter and Alice aren’t your average delinquents, and the creepy old house where they live is being run by the worst housekeeper since Mrs. Danvers. Complicating matters is Andie’s fiancé’s suspicion that this is all a plan by North to get Andie back.

    "Surprising"
    Overall

I didn't find this book so "great, funny and interesting" as it was described in so many reviews. For me this book has rather silly and vacuous plot, but was written with humour and good language. While reading it I was remembering film "Ghostbusters". So I can recommend this book to everybody who like this film.

Fatima, Portugal, 1917: The Virgin Mary appears to three peasant children, sharing with them three secrets, two of which are soon revealed to the world. The third secret is sealed away in the Vatican, read only by popes, and not disclosed until the year 2000. When revealed, its quizzical tone and anticlimactic nature leave many faithful wondering if the Church has truly unveiled all of the Virgin Mary's words, or if a message far more important has been left in the shadows.

    Jim says: "What a waste!!"
    "Quiet interesting"
    Overall

I can recommend this book only to a people who are not catholic. For me it was very interesting to see how the author has tried to separate religion and faith and to question the main church doctrins. The plot is not so active and thrilling as in other S.Berry's books, but the book makes you think.

Nora Kelly, a young archaeologist in Santa Fe, receives a letter written 16 years ago, yet mysteriously mailed only recently. In it her father, long believed dead, hints at a fantastic discovery that will make him famous and rich - the lost city of an ancient civilization that suddenly vanished a thousand years ago. Now Nora is leading an expedition into a harsh, remote corner of Utah's canyon country, but what she unearths will be the newest of horrors.

    Yurgel says: "Oh my god"
    "Boring!!!!"
    Overall

Unlike other books by D. Preston this book is boring, full of uninteresting details and descriptions. The characters are sometimes behave unrealistic, especially the main one and the end is very predictable. Unfortunately I can't recommend this book.

For two years, Catherine Marks has been a paid companion to the Hathaway sisters—a pleasant position, with one caveat. Her charges’ older brother, Leo Hathaway, is thoroughly exasperating. Cat can hardly believe that their constant arguing could mask a mutual attraction. But when one quarrel ends in a sudden kiss, Cat is shocked at her powerful response—and even more so when Leo proposes a dangerous liaison.

Katheryne says: "Best of the series!"
    "Wonderful reading!"
    Overall

I liked all the Hathaway Series and this is also very entertaining reading. I truly recommend it. I can't wait to listen for the last one.
