For the first time ever - a comprehensive biography of one of the 20th century’s most innovative creative artists: the incomparable, irreplaceable Jim Henson He was a gentle dreamer whose genial bearded visage was recognized around the world, but most people got to know him only through the iconic characters born of his fertile imagination: Kermit the Frog, Bert and Ernie, Miss Piggy, Big Bird. The Muppets made Jim Henson a household name, but they were just part of his remarkable story.

What made the experience of listening to Jim Henson the most enjoyable?

I love pop culture and knowing the stories behind what I have enjoyed for so long.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It's time to raise the curtains...

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed listening to the story of Jim Henson. I grew up with Sesame Street and the Muppets but never really thought about the man behind these beautiful characters. My flaw with this book was that it was so long! At times it was too thorough...

  • Where'd You Go, Bernadette: A Novel

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

S says: "One of my top 10 listens of the year!"
    "Really Fun!"

If you could sum up Where'd You Go, Bernadette in three words, what would they be?

    Fun, Curious, and Fun!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Where'd You Go, Bernadette?

There's a point in the book where Bee (the daughter) describes listening to Abbey Road with her mom. I think this is a great example of how the author blended pop culture with her excellent story.

    Any additional comments?

This book was an excellent, light-hearted book! It was so good that even my fiancé was intrigued with the story and decided to listen to it with me.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend the physical book, but not the audiobook.

What didn’t you like about Alexandra Shawnee’s performance?

The narrator was robotic in this performance. I almost didn't finish the book because of the narration.

If you could take any character from It's Not Love, It's Just Paris out to dinner, who would it be and why?

My initial reaction was to take the main character out; but then I remembered how she dropped out of school for a relationship destined to fail. I can't tolerate those kinds of characters.

    Any additional comments?

I hated the narration and the main character bugged me, but somehow I still enjoyed the book. Maybe it's because its just Paris...
