Heloise considers it a blessing to be a person who seldom attracts attention. In her suburb, she's just a mom, the young widow with the forgettable job, who somehow never misses a soccer game. In the state capital, she's the redheaded lobbyist with a good cause and a mediocre track record. But in discreet hotel rooms throughout the area, she's the woman of your dreams - if you can afford the hourly fee. For more than a decade, Heloise believed she was safe, managing to keep up this rigidly compartmentalized life. But her secret life is under siege. One county over, another so-called suburban madam has been found dead in her car, an apparent suicide.

    Pamela says: "She WAS good"
    "It kept me interested."

What made the experience of listening to And When She Was Good the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed the narrator's voice. Looking forward to hearing more work she's done.

If you’ve listened to books by Laura Lippman before, how does this one compare?

This is my first book from this author but I intend on listening more now that I've listened to this one.

What does Linda Emond bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really enjoyed her voice. Not too much inflection but not too boring and she differentiates characters well without trying too hard.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I thought some things were unrealistic but sometimes even the truth is unrealistic.

Can you ever really know if love is true? And if it is, should you stop at anything to get it? Two decades ago, Erin Edwards was sure she’d already found the love of her life: Nate Lawson. Her first love. The one with whom she shared everything--dreams of the future, of children, plans for forever. The one she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. Until one terrible night when Erin made a mistake Nate could not forgive and left her to mourn the relationship she could never forget or get over.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

For a sappy woman I guess but not for the realist.

What was most disappointing about Beth Harbison’s story?

It was interesting but to hear of a woman pining away for a man who didn't care enough to be honest with her is just terribly disappointing in this day and age. Who is that foolish in life? Aren't women over the fairy tale already?

Which character – as performed by Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?

Cam is the best and most realistic character. Out of the mouths of babes, they say.

Could you see Always Something There to Remind Me being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    The story is very Hollywood.

James Thicke is a man whose mysterious past runs as deep as his violent streak. He’s channeled the intensity of his soul into twin passions - success as a screenwriter and marriage to movie actress Regina Baptiste. In the midst of filming his latest script, starring Regina and leading man Johnny Bergs, James receives a video of his wife caught in the most compromising of situations.

What did you like best about An Accidental Affair? What did you like least?

The narrator is awesome. Very good diction and command of language. Great with accents. A good storyteller. But really? Some corny writer kills a known family of thugs? So unrealistic that it's actually funny that the writer thought readers wold be bowled over by it.

Would you recommend An Accidental Affair to your friends? Why or why not?

Sure but some of my friends would be just as disappointed by the ending.

Have you listened to any of Christopher Lane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've not listened to him but love his voice.

Could you see An Accidental Affair being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes since Americans seem to love the unrealistic.

You're left completely wondering what's next with all the characters. I felt it was way too incomplete...like the story just cut off.

But the narrator is wonderful and the writer is good at detail.

Jenny and Mark have been together since they were at school. Now they are getting a divorce - largely, it would appear, because it is easier than answering difficult questions. (For example, why has it taken them 15 years to get married?) Only Jenny and Mark are determined that their carefully planned separation will lead to the world's first truly amicable divorce. But Jenny and Mark's friends and family are not so happy about their plans for a 'perfect divorce'. They find their loyalties divided.

I'm an American but I love British wit and this book is full of it. The author has written very well and the narrator does a very good job expressing the characters.

The idea that one person can cause shakeups in all of her relationships by either disclosing or not disclosing certain information is really believable and unbelievable at the same time.

This was a very enjoyable listen.

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....
