    Where does The Second Ship rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    This is a very interesting book with a fairly new premise. While the villians are two dimensional, it is a very fun book and an easy listen.

    Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    I would recommend this book. While under 30 years old, you can still tell the difference in societal norms. Cigarette smoking being glamorous, women in mostly subservient roles to men. But still a very good story. Because of the deepness of the narrator's voice it was sometimes hard to understand, but overall a very enjoyable listening experience.

    Yes, the narrator did a very good job.

    What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    A Plot. It totally lacked one. It just seemed to ramble going here, going there, but never really getting anywhere.


    Would you ever listen to anything by Stanislaw Lem and Bill Johnston (translator) again?

    Probably not. I have read several Stanislaw Lem books and after each one I ask myself: 'Why did I read this author again"?


    Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    Yes, to be fair, the narrator was OK. It was just the material he had to work with.


    What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Nothing. A couple of good twists but nothing really memorable.

    Ithought a book by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child should be pretty good and the premise seemed topnotch. While the premise remained top notch, the writing was abysmal. Actually, the author of the blurb about the book was much better than the book. Within mere pages it became way to obvious what was going to happen and how. There was one nice twist at the end of the book, but overall just predictably boring.
