I'm a big Rollins fan but I just couldn't follow this story. I'll continue being a big fan though.
This was the first and last Cornwell book I will be reading/listening to. I could not wait for it to end. I could not keep track of where the character were, what was going on - and what ANY of the dialogue had to do with the actual story...and besides that, what was the story? What was the plot? I kept asking myself while reading this.."what has this got to do with anything?" Sure, I could have stopped reading it, but I heard so many great things about Cornwell - I was determined to give her a fair shake. Not only do I want my money back, but I want the time I wasted too. Sorry Cornwell, I guess you've written good things in the past, but did you read this last story you wrote? It didn't make any sense...I'm sorry I'm so bitter but rarely do I ever feel this way about a book I read. If your character talked to me like that talked to each other...I'd either turn and run away as fast as I could or I'd nod a lot and give them a number to a shrink after they stopped talking in circles about something that had nothing to do with anything. Ugh...I'm so...I'm so...disappointed (to put it lightly).
I am becoming a big fan of Preston and Child - the writing is excellent, the plot of this book is great - the ending blew me away. A high recommendation for this book!
