Would you consider the audio edition of Kill Decision to be better than the print version?

Good story . .unfortunately the reader made the female lead sound like a whiney 17 year old. His men's voice were either goofy or gruff. . .This would probably be a lot better with a different reader. . . at times I felt like I was listening to a book written for very young adults.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

There are so many u-turns in this story, I found myself shaking my head in disabelief. It is so beautifully written and performed. Stick with it, it takes a chapter to get into the story but well worth the wait. The readers were absolutely amazing.

Creole Belle begins where the last book in the Dave Robicheaux series, The Glass Rainbow, ended. Dave is in a recovery unit in New Orleans, where a Creole girl named Tee Jolie Melton visits him and leaves him an iPod with the country blues song “Creole Belle” on it. Then she disappears. Dave becomes obsessed with the song and the memory of Tee Jolie and goes in search of her sister, who later turns up inside a block of ice floating in the Gulf.

Being from Louisiana, I enjoy James Lee Burke. This is one of his angrier books. Even Molly gets mad in this one. If you are a fan of past books, you will enjoy it. I might have to sit back and digest it some more before I decide it's placement in "best of Dave".

Then a phone call from his best friend awakens in him a torrent of emotion and pain. Having left North Carolina and its red soil for good, he never thought returning would be easy - and being remembered as a murderer doesn't help much.

.Lucas Davenport has seen many terrible murder scenes. This is one of the worst. In the small Minnesota town of Deephaven, an entire family has been killed - husband, wife, two daughters, dogs. There’s something about the scene that pokes at Lucas’s cop instincts - it looks an awful lot like the kind of scorched-earth retribution he’s seen in drug killings sometimes. But this is a seriously upscale town, and the husband was an executive vice president at a big bank. It just doesn’t seem to fit.

John, your editor didn't show up on this one. . .and neither the action and clarity of plot. Two many characters and subplots . . However, the last two chapters were vintage Davenport . . but btw, (spoiler alert) do you really think Letty would have just walked by Sam's room and shut the door with gunman in the house?

Love the story . .love the writer . .and didn't want poor sound quality to ruin it.. took a chance and it was O.K. . .however, there is no excuse for Achilles's name to be mispronounced continually in the second half . . . . where was the producer? He is not a minor character in the story. It is tolerable only because you know you want to hear the story to continue the series . .but I can't believe this version was approved for production with such glaring errors . .sad.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

I kept on waiting for this to become a five star for me . . .The characters are not as devoloped as other Follet works and there are too many story lines. It was not smooth and it felt in need of a good editor near the end. I'm hoping the rest of the trilogy is better . .

Jeanette Garland, missing Castleford, July 1969. Susan Ridyard, missing Rochdale, March 1972. Claire Kemplay, missing Morley, since yesterday. It’s winter, 1974, Yorkshire, Christmas bombs, Lord Lucan on the run, the Bay City Rollers, and Eddie Dunford’s got the job he wanted – crime correspondent for the Yorkshire Evening Post. He didn’t know it was going to be a season in hell. A dead little girl with a swan’s wings stitched into her back. A gypsy camp in a ring of fire. Corruption everywhere you look.

The writer cannot get past 1 minute without using the F word or other vulgarities....I don't consider myself a prude . . . I am a fan of Pulp Fiction! I'm surprised the Audio found a clip for the listener to hear that did not have bad words in it. I tried to get past the "F" word but then his use of Sh*t plus the "C" word involving sex with his lover finally did me in. There may be a story in there somewhere but the obscene language is extremely distracting. A BIG disappointment since Audible has chosen to showcase it this month. I asked for and received my credit back for the first time ever.
