I found this book through an article interviewing Rita Wilson. She quoted from the book and I was intrigued. I am glad I did. I had no idea what it was going to be about, but purchased it anyway. It was interesting read, thoughtful and provoking. A reminder to trust your intuition in many circumstances and not give in to worrying what the outside world will think. If a warning bell goes off, better to take heed. Well narrated kept my attention.
Excellent premise for an autobiography. Laugh out loud funny, poignant and touching. Can't wait to see what you do next!
Ok, loved this second book in this series and now can not wait to find out when the next one will be coming out.
I did not think he could top his first book, but this is terrific. Thoughtful, honest and funny. I want to meet his wife, Cheryl and spend an afternoon hang out with them at a BBQ. I highly recommend this next series of stories.
All of the stories and how he tells them. His self awareness is refreshing.
Hearing his stories in his own words and voice. It brought an honesty and warmth that just added to the book. Somehow he connects with his listener in a way that just reading it, would not have done.
Yes, I laughed and was so touched by the story of Buck. I felt a kindred spirit to what he has learned about himself at his age.
Thank you for sharing your stories and lessons Mr. Lowe.
The audio version was like having a friend tell me their story.
It's truly a story of redemption and resilience. It's unbelievable that a person could survive what Louie did. But he did and is still with us today. I am thankful he shared his story and hope future generations will learn from it. He is truly an inspiring soul.
A warm yet reassuring voice. He did an excellent job, good pacing and inflection. He painted a picture with his voice.
Many extreme reactions to this story. More than once i was on the edge of my sear, held my breath and sighed with sadness at the plight of the POWs. I also smiled with joy at the optimism and forgiveness shown by Louie.
A must read. A testament to the strength of friendship and the human spirit to not only survive adversity but to succeed because it. To Live Big!
Wonderful story and narration. I dont know how I missed reading this when I was young, but it was fantastic to find it again after all these years. It was recommended by my sister who says its her all time favorite book. I totally see why and now its on my all time list as well.
I kept listening hoping for the story to really get going. There were some really great characters, but the heroine, Miss Julia seemed to be a simpering fool making decisions out of pride rather than from being clever or crafty. I perceived her to be smart and clever from the description of the book. It could have been truly funny with the cast of characters created by Miss Ross. The narrator did a wonderful job and she was the reason I kept listening, hoping it would get to its point.
What a fascinating life and so well told by the man himself. Hilariously funny with mini commercials smack in the middle of his thoughts. I laughed out loud many times.
This put a lump in my throat and a smile on my face many times through the reading. I has made me look at my dog and cat in a whole new light. What is there purpose and what is my role in helping them fulfill it. If you love your pets and feel a strong connection to your dog..this is a must read. Especially if you have loved and lost a pet, your heart will sing to have a unique perspective. A lovely follow up to a Dog's Purpose by the same author. The narrator is terrific as well. A+++
This is the best book I have read in a long time and the one that I recommend to anyone looking for a book that will move them. This book was heart-tugging, lovely, exciting and sweet. I cried and cheered on the characters.
This book is written from the perspective of the dog. For anyone who has lost a pet in their life - don't shy away...jump in with both feet and you will be glad you did. It gives you a new perspective and will make your heart sing. I promise.
This is one of my favorite books. I love history and the vampire genre is intriguing Seth Grahame-Smith does an excellent job of overlaying this into a compelling story. He takes the history of Abraham Lincoln from childhood to Presidency....I did not want to put this story down. The narrator did a fantastic job as well.
I hear there will be a movie released sometime this year and can't wait to see how its cast and delivered, but nothing will compare to the audio book.
