I have been a fan of Lisa Kleypas audiobooks and this one is typical. IE - The couple meet & seem ill-suited for each other. Their relationship develops & they fall for each other but keep it to themselves due to their own insecurities. They have a sexual encounter that results in a break up as well as an obsession with the other. The story comes to a crisis point from which they overcome the obstacles that have kept them apart.

This is a well done adventure story. Dragos & Pia, as the romantic leads, are interesting, intelligent & courageous. Their characters & relationships develop as they are carried from one adventure to the next. The interest continues as things settle down for a bit while Pia finds her place in Dragos' world. The sex is steamy although there isn't a whole lot of down-time for that.

The supporting characters are fun too. So much so that I have listened to & enjoyed the entire series! However, this one is my favorite, and one I turn to when I can't sleep at night - just because it makes me feel good.

Interesting story that is captivating from the get-go. The characters & relationships evolve from self discovery, not angst & whining. The steamy sex adds to the story. I liken this one to Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison - another one of my favorites - a story & place I would like to be a part of. I will be listening to this one again & again and I have already purchased 50 credits this year alone. I will be watching for more in this series!

This is one of my favorites. It starts out hot and moves into a solid & interesting story with sympathetic characters, little angst and a surprise ending. It is worth the credit.

I've enjoyed the entire series. The narrator moves along (I hate slow or lots of pauses) and is easy to listen to. The romance is steamy with a consistent undercurrent. I especially enjoy the development of the relationship and this one doesn't disappoint. Add to that a strong lead female character, charming leading man & lots of fast paced intrigue & adventure, and this whole series is a very fun ride!! I highly recommend it!!

Engaging couple & story. And YES the female lead character was strong - delightful. I will listen to this again & again. I recommend it!

Character & relationship development well done. That is often my favorite part & this succeeds. Imaginative love story. I would have liked the heroine to be stronger with less angst - but it was tolerable. I recommend this book.

Half of the book is angst. I've heard it already, again, again, again. Seems like the author didn't have enough story & so repeated the insecurities over & over. I had to fast forward a lot . It does get better toward the end. The only reason I could listen to the whole thing is because I was doing a boring task at the same time.

I enjoyed it!! I loved the development of the characters & their relationship. The story was plausible. The heroine wasn't too whiney or indecisive. Very light.

I just read a couple of books from this series while on vacation. Aside from the repeated backdrop of violence toward women, I enjoyed them. This one was a different story. Doubt, insecurity, & angst take up at least 1/3 of the story. I found myself saying "just get on with it' often & eventually having to fast forward because I couldn't take it anymore. I lost interest way before the end. Thus I am returning it. There are over 20 books in the series. I enjoy different characters being developed throughout a series. However, I think the author has drawn this well dry.
I find it hard to believe that others gave this one a good rating. I chose this book over others in the series because of that. Yecch.

Maybe older ones from this series - nothing newer.
