Would you try another book from J. L. Bourne and/or Jay Snyder?

Yes, but I was highly disappointed with this one. I know Bourne was deployed when he wrote some of this, and having been deployed myself I understand why he might have rushed the end. I would have rather waited a few more weeks or months even for a better story.

What could J. L. Bourne have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not changed his mode of story telling.

Have you listened to any of Jay Snyder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Snyder does an awesome job. Haven't listed to a book narrated by him that has been a bad performance yet.

    Any additional comments?

It felt like there were way too many new characters introduced this book. I actually liked the journal style story telling of the last book, so I'm going to have to listen to this one again. I was waiting so long for this one I might have set myself up for disappointment. Although reading some of the other reviews, I do not think I am alone with feeling this was not as good as the other two.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this was an awesome listen. Aside from being a funny book it makes you feel for the main character.

What other book might you compare Confessions of a D-List Supervillain to and why?

The closest I could compare it to is Ex-Heros and Ex-Patriots and as much as i like those both this one was better.

    Which scene was your favorite?

With out giving away some of the book, the first detox scene.

    Any additional comments?

Very well written and preformed spectacularly by the voice artist.

What’s the point in solving murders if we’re all going to die soon, anyway? Detective Hank Palace has faced this question ever since asteroid 2011GV1 hovered into view. There’s no chance left. No hope. Just six precious months until impact. The Last Policeman presents a fascinating portrait of a pre-apocalyptic United States. The economy spirals downward while crops rot in the fields. Churches and synagogues are packed. People all over the world are walking off the job - but not Hank Palace. He’s investigating a death by hanging.

Not a bad story on its own, even without the whole " killer asteroid" heading for earth. If you have any background in law enforcement or investigation, you will probably figure out whats going on pretty fast. I do have to say I 100% respect the main character for keeping his head even though the world is coming to an end. The ending does seem to set the book up for a squeal which might be interesting and i wouldn't mind checking it out when it comes to audible.

What disappointed you about Zombie Fallout 5?

This one seemed like Tufo rushed it. The book was filled with pointless flashbacks that had nothing to do with the main story.

What could Mark Tufo have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

If Tufo spent more time developing the actual story instead of making it one flash back after another. I'm truly sad to say this because i liked the other books so much, but this one was terrible and i was of money.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Zombie Fallout 5?

all of the flash backs which would cut out at least half of the book.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what was with the cats? Really? Cats? are you serious? it was like Tufo was sitting at his desk writing this piece of crap and was like "hmmm, what can i use to kill paul? chickes? nahhh..... frogs? i don't think frogs will work. Rabid goats? nahh that's just silly. Oh i know house cats! Thats a great idea and wont piss off the people paying $20 for this book after 6 flashbacks that have nothing to do with the story." Sorry if this sounds harsh, but after listening to all five books in one sitting i was expecting a lot from him.

The first book of Day by Day Armageddon took us deep into the mind of a military officer and survivor as he made a New Year's resolution to start keeping a journal. The man kept his resolution and brought to us the fall of humanity, day by day. We see the man transition from the life that you and I live to the prospect of fighting for his very survival against the overwhelming hordes of the dead. We see him bleed, we see him make mistakes, we witness him evolve.

I have never had a reaction to a book before, but i found myself "cheering" on the characters.

I can believe i am saying this, but this one was better then the first. The ending was insane, and i can wait for the third!

What does Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jay Snyder did a fantastic job!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I have listened to it 3 times not in less then a month as well as the second book.

    Any additional comments?

I am a former military man and loved this book whole heatedly. People who are looking for a Rambo charter move on, this is what i would consider a more "real life" (or as real as i could be) account of dealing with Zombies. I also loved World War Z, but this book was better hands down, and for those who do not like the ending, i thought it was a great way to lead into the second book.

  • World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War

The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

Would you try another book from Max Brooks and/or the narrators?

Yes, but be warned it is ABRIDGED!!!

    Any additional comments?

I read reviews that stated the book was too political, and at first i thought so as well, I have to admit I lean more so towards the right. However I am also worldly and understood that the books political views are from those of their country of origin, Max Brooks (son of Mel Brooks) does an awesome job in writing this story and keeping it interesting. I was very disappointed that the audio book was ABRIDGED. That it the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.
