What would have made How to Get Over It better?

Very little substance. Man and woman talking to one another in an question/answer style. I got absolutely nothing new or helpful from this.

Would you ever listen to anything by Patrick Wanis again?

    No. Definitely No.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from How to Get Over It?

    Id scrap the whole book.

Where does First Family rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to over 500 audio titles, so to rank it is impossible. Nothing I'd gush about, but certainly not stinky swill.

    Any additional comments?

Little hard to follow both story lines as they both drag along, one far worse than the other though. If you're rooting for Michelle, you won't want to skip this one as she finally faces her 6 yr old girl event.

Recent art school graduate Bekah thought she’d hit the jackpot: an unknown relative died, and she inherited a small fortune and a huge house in the mountains of North Carolina. Trey Howard, the lawyer who handled the estate, is a handsome man in his 20s and they hit it off right away - and soon become more than friends. Bekah expected a pleasant year to get her head together and have a romantic fling. Problem is, the house is full of junk...and siblings she didn’t know she had are willing to kill her for it.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure. It was fun. Easy reading. Times you needed to be sharp to follow. Other times was pretty fun. *Definitely needs a note about the language though*. My 13 yr old would enjoy this very much but too many f bombs thrown around consistently.

What did you like best about this story?

The real personality of the main character. She made me smile throughout.

Have you listened to any of Leslie Hull’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This one was good though. Wasn't a distraction from the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    More than anyone bargained for.

    Any additional comments?

Another fun read. Most of the time there was no gut clench as I got through the stressful spots. Was easy to root for the main character. & I loved her friends. The brother scene completely weirded me out though.

The Profiler's Daughter is a psychologically haunting thriller that combines murder mystery, love triangle, and family intrigue in one satisfying page burner. Sky Stone was born into the wealth and privilege of Boston's oldest Brahmin family but chooses instead to follow in the footsteps of her deceased father, legendary FBI profiler Monk Stone. In the chilly morning hours before the Boston Marathon, when a beautiful university student is found strangled and mutilated, her body left at the base of Heartbreak Hill, Sky returns from self-imposed exile to investigate.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The book was a great read, although it drug on in a few spots. I had to force myself to finish it w the absurd voices the narrator provided. Good thing the plot has juice.

Would you be willing to try another one of Gabrielle de Cuir’s performances?

Not even for free. She drawled for characters she shouldn't have. At times she made the put together main character inappropriately whiney. She hadn't a clue how to do a Boston accent & made the men sound completely opposite from how I felt they were designed to be. Like they were idiots, instead of sharp officers w a flavor of wit.

Do you think The Profiler's Daughter needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Of course. Cruel hanging ending re the babies daddy & if she even knows. Plus I want to see the reaction of the fake pregnancy. I think Angel should have been a dirty cop who was a part of the whole mess--so it would be interesting to see where that line leads. And we have to know if she tells her homicide boss to bugger off for not believing in her sanity & for all the guys that let one situation completely distort their respect for her and disregard her professional input. P.S. Where was her jerk of an ex when she needed protecting? And if they have a different narrator then Id very much enjoy seeing the rookie's character develop.

    Any additional comments?

Write a sequel. Ditch the narrator. I'll be first in line.
