El Skippito is back! Avoiding a lecture from Mama Junebug, the kitty boy slips into his closet - and finds himself in ancient Egypt! His doggy pals, Los Chimichangos, want to visit the Under Mundo - the underworld - where mummitos rest in peas. But they need El Skippito's brains and courage to answer the riddle of the Finx and enter the mummy's tomb. Our hero is up to the task, and he's in for another grand and whirlwind adventure.

What did you like best about Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble? What did you like least?

Shachner's stories are wonderful. She is a great writer, but not necessarily a skilled narrator...at least not for children. She reads WAY too quickly. I can't even understand her or the chorus of Los Chimichangos most of the time. A children's narrator should know more about how to read to children. Speaking this quickly to children, who are just now learning the language, can lead to speech disfluencies, including stuttering.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble?

I love Skippyjon's imagination. I think he works as a wonderful tool to get kids to use their imaginations.

Was Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble worth the listening time?

    Worth reading, not hearing.

    Any additional comments?

These stories definitely need to be read aloud. The rhyme scheme and alliteration is wonderful, but do it yourself.

Skippyjon Jones is crazy-loco for dinosaurs! The kitty boy enters (via his closet) the land of dinosaurs in search of the fabled Skipposaurus. Instead he runs into his old amigos, the Chimichango gang. When a T-Mex threatens the pack, it's El Skippito, the great sword fighter, to the rescue.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. Reading it...yes. Listening...no. She is a good author, not a good narrator. She reads WAY to quickly for children. There is no need to rush through life.

What didn???t you like about Judy Schachner???s performance?

She is a good author, not a good narrator. She reads WAY to quickly for children. There is no need to rush through life. Children need to process what they hear. Impossible with her reading.

The Siamese kitty boy with the gigantico imagination has returned for another loco adventure. In his room for a time-out, Skippyjon Jones lets his imagination take him to a shack where his Chihuahua friends are yipping and yapping and hiding out from the Bad Bobble-ito, who has taken over their doghouse

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Read too quickly to process the information. Sometimes you can't even understand her.
