Using a travel guide format, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee acts as tour guide extraordinaire, describing and critiquing every aspect of this territory she knows so well: its people (young and old, male and female), familiar phrases ("purl this, darn that"), strange beliefs, currency (skein trading), etiquette, holidays (any sale day at the local yarn shop), and customs. She notes important dates in knitting history and celebrates unsung knitting heroes.

I have enjoyed Stephanie's books and blog since the beginning, and have met her in person. She is incredibly funny, down to earth not to mention talented. The fact that she narrates her own books makes this a no brainer! Love it!

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Charles says: "Read all of Gabaldon's stuff before this one"
    "Fantastic"

I have been a fan of the "Outlander" series since stumbling upon it years ago. I am not much for "time travel/fantasy" type books. These books bring so much to the reader/listener. Diana incorporates not only depth to her characters, but history as well. This book is just the latest in her series and I look forward as usual to the next! Davina Porter as the narrator is absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!
