"Grab some popcorn and get ready to laugh out loud"
Molly does it again, and just when you think the story has no where to go enter a whole new plot. Bring back all our old favorites and throw in some humor. Molly Harper's sense of timing is outstanding. I also love her naked warewolf books.
"Well done!"
Very enjoyable cozy mystery...looking forward to the audible version of book two!
Not too light not too dark.
"A new era has begun..."
Rothfuss is a new voice...and you don't want to miss this book. If you are any kind of a fan of Fantasy this is a must listen.
"EPIC"
This book may not be on the well worn list of must reads for this genere yet...but it will be. Rothfuss has found a voice that is both unique and powerful. It also has a deep thread of truth and unless he completely fumbles his ending it is going to be EPIC. You will not know exactly where this story is going, and you will be checking the authors blog to see when the next book will be published.
"Not just any YA book"
Tamora Pierce has filled such a need for well written characters in YA fiction it is difficult to describe her for a review to someone who might not have heard of her yet. Her writting is well crafted, and her main characters who are often girls are strong, moral, upright and worthy. Character is written deep in the roots of her characters. Problems are solved with thought and events while possibly magical are never unbelievable. Relationships are the foundations of her stories and she treats each with care and concious. I would reccomend her books to any mom of a young adult. She never forgets she is writing to an audience still growing and learning who they are and she does very well by them.
"As it should be"
Terry Jones does a truely beautiful job of narrating this classic childrens tale. This is a story to you will listen to over and over again.
"Don't be scared away..."
Some of the reviews have complained about the plot drift from the romance that seemed to be starting in book 9. I disagree, the books have always been about the person who, with some luck might bring some balance to her very out of whack world. I thought the story moved well and was every bit as enjoyable as each before. I love Kim Harrisons sense of humor and wit. She balances that wit with real bone deep characters that you will cry over and find yourself holding your breath about. Marguerite Gavin is a master and I am pleased she is once again bringing me the voices of the characters I have come to love.
"Strayed from the path"
First I have just found this series so the knowledge that I will be waiting 4-5 years for the next is sad. I was so enthalled with this story and love so many elements of it that are unique in the fantasy genere and yet classic. However I think Britain caved in to the trend toward darker themes happening in publishing these days. I was not impressed with the ending ot the authors treatment of Karagan in this volume. The Narration is wonderful and the story is very good but uts heading in a direction that might put me off the next book.
"house cleaning happiness!"
I just love this series! Its fun but still has enough story to make it worth listening to and look forward to the next book. Emily Gray is doing a lovely job of narrating and her Lord A is perfect. I like my steampunk done witty and light and Gail nails it. Perfect to listen to while cleaning the house, it will make you laugh and keep you scrubbing dishes even when its your least favorite chore!
"a worthy sequel"
Eric Nylund is best know for Halo and so for many parents of young readers might be an author to hessitate over. Resisters was very well done and my 11 year old son connected with the caracters, enjoyed the idea of an alien take over where the parents are helpless but kids can come to the rescue. Book two continues to develope the resisters characters and got another two thumbs up fromt the son. There are just not enough good books in any genere that speak to young boys and stay PG and out of the overly graphic. I am very pleased Eric Nylund knows that a good story can stand without such and kept it young reader approperate.
