Garwood once again created outstanding characters and their banter is the best element of the book. Heather Wilds is an EXCEPTIONAL narrator and is only second to Kate Reading in my opinion. This book is not as good as The Bride, but is still great and credit worthy. If you enjoy Garwood's characters then you will like these as well. I actually liked the first half of the book much better than the last half. The first half had me laughing and crying. Then it seemed to slightly flatten out, but I still enjoyed it very much.

He is the Killer Duke, accused of murdering Mara Lowe on the eve of her wedding. With no memory of that fateful night, Temple has reigned over the darkest of London's corners for twelve years, wealthy and powerful, but beyond redemption. Until one night, Mara resurfaces, offering the one thing he's dreamed of . . . absolution.

I was enthralled from the very beginning. Mara & Temple have AMAZING chemistry...ELECTRIFYING sexual chemistry. Mara is one of the best female characters I have listened to in a long time. I really didn't expect to enjoy Temple's story as much as I did....but I did!

The boys at the orphanage were a such a fun addition to the story. I actually wished they were in it a little more. I laughed out loud a few times. Great supporting characters.

For the first time in a long time - I wasn't positive where the story was heading. That's a great thing because it kept me guessing and trying to figure out all the possible outcomes.

This book was finally a book (in a long string of books) that held my attention throughout and I didn't want to hit pause on.

Great series - but this one is the best!

Garret and Ethan are amazing together. Lisa Kleypas is just absolutely AMAZING! I wish there were 20 more Ravenel family members! It was sexy, interesting, and funny. West Ravenel almost stole the show. Highly recommend the entire series but read the Wallflower series first then the Ravenel Series you will not regret it.

5 hours and 30 minutes of exactly what happened in book 1 (The Countess) I am shocked! This has seriously put me off of Lyndsay Sands books. After looking back in my library I see that I had another of her books that I had read a few years ago... I gave that book only two stars. Then after listening to the countess and only giving it two and a half to three stars I realized Lynsay Sands books might not be my taste. After going through 5 hours and 30 minutes of the same material dialogue and all it seemed I have confirmed I won't go on to the third book and probably won't get a Lynsay Sands book for many many many years to come. In fact this is one of those rare occasions when I'm going to return the book to Audible. There was literally maybe 45 minutes to an hour and that's being generous of new dialogue in this book but it wasn't compelling enough for me to even want to listen to it. I'm just extremely disappointed in Ms Sands.

The last 2 1/2 hours are pretty good. I was glad to have a little good but unfortunately it couldn't save to book.

The fairy tale courtship did not turn into a happily-ever-after. Not until her husband dropped dead, that is. He had been horrible enough to Christiana during their short marriage, and she was not going to allow the traditional period of mourning to ruin her sisters' debuts as well. So she decides to put him on ice and go on as if nothing's happened.... Until the real earl appears.

I did get this book on sale - 2 for 1 - so with that in mind - I am fine with the fact it wasn't great.

Well.....Christiana is a total nit wit. The narrator doesn't help that either - she really makes her much worse. The narrator isn't bad all the time....just not great in all the love scenes. She seems to get louder and makes the love scenes very distracting - rather than sensual. And since we are on the topic.....there are some steamy parts, but nothing over the top IMO. Although...Sands says "latched on" so much it got really annoying. I mean one latched on might be fine, but too many and it is just gross.

It is an interesting premise for a storyline, pretty far fetched - but aren't they all? ;o) There seems to be a lot of redundant thoughts. That got a little old......I kept saying yeah yeah...I know...get on with it. As the story progressed it really did seem to get more ridiculous. I just don't seem grown people acting like this. I hate talking about a writer's work negatively, but really seemed like Sands was all over the page (no pun intended) and was writing without an overall plan. Most of the things that took seemed like time fillers - and then - it was over.

Richard and Daniel are great characters. Daniel and Suzette seem like they will have a fun story. (although I thought this book was only okay - I have a hard time not finishing a series)

So .... if its on sale - get it...if you have credits to burn...get it. If you want to really get into and enjoy a good story and good writing....DON'T get it!

I just never got hooked into this one. I liked Sebastian and Anna alright, but I just didn't think the chemistry was developed. I liked seeing characters from the last book, and those may have been my favorite parts. Just okay - not spectacular, but I was glad to see what happened to Seb.

This one was pretty tame in the heat department. There was little steam and what was there was really only luke warm.

Over all - I'm glad I listened (Landor is always a treat)

Captain Maximus Harcourt, the unconventional tenth Duke of Alderidge, can deal with tropical storms, raging seas, and the fiercest of pirates. But he's returned home from his latest voyage to find a naked earl - quite inconveniently deceased - tied to his missing sister's bed. And he has only one place to turn. Now he's at the mercy of the captivating Miss Ivory Moore of Chegarre & Associates, known throughout London for smoothing over the most dire of scandals.

This is not just a puppies and rainbows romance. There is a lot of dirty deeds going on here and Ivory Moore is right in the middle! Ivory is a wonderful character. She is very well written and not you everyday romance novel heroine - but also not a loud and boisterous "man hating feminist" - shes a female in a man's world and time - doing what she does - and doing it good. She isn't looking for credit - she is under the radar.

Max is not quite as well developed IMO, but he is still a fine leading man.

Some of the stars of the book are the supporting characters - whether they be villains or the good guys....and sometimes it is hard to tell!

There is romance, but it is not as much as I personally would have liked. It is steamy - but not scorching. Lots of intrigue and mystery - worth a credit for sure.

I was surprised that THIS was the BEST of the trilogy! I never thought I would like Nick after the first 2 books and didn't think it was possible to like Alice! I was WRONG! This was so good! I laughed and teared up - I was on the edge of my seat.

The supporting characters are WONDERFUL! I think they put this book over the top for me.

I felt like the romance grew at a more natural pace and seemed to be more real. It was sweet, funny, sexy and leaves you feeling warm inside!

Lenora Bell saved the best for last!
