I am a sales rep. I spend many hours in the car often travelling to see my parents 16 hrs each way. These books are such an intergral part of travelling for me...

Hell Island does not appear on any maps. It is a secret place where classified experiments have been carried out. Experiments that have gone terribly wrong. When all contact with the island is inexplicably lost, four crack Special Forces units are dropped in. Their mission is to land on Hell Island and discover what has happened. Nothing can prepare them for what they find there. You could say they've just entered Hell. Only that would be wrong. This is much, much worse.

Another great story for Matthew and a "MUST READ" for fans of the Scarecrow story line but this story was written for a story was written as a short story for School use in Australia. I have to question the bang for my buck. The same price for just 2 hours of listening is not justified against the 10 to 13 hours of the other books. The story is great and well in keeping with the Scarecrow story line. Toned down in language and in gory detail it is a good listen around the kids but it retains the action and feverish pace worthy of the Scarecrow

Dirk Pitt battles his most dangerous foe ever - with help from a very unexpected source. There is a black tide infesting the ocean off the shore of Nicaragua. Whilst trying to determine its origin, startling things begin to occur and the inhabitants of a floating resort find themselves directly in the path of a violent storm. Dirk and the NUMA crew rush to their rescue, but they discover that there is an all-too-human evil at work and the black tide is only a by-product of its plan. Soon its work will be complete - and the world will be a very different place....

Classic action. This is like the Matthew Reilly or Andy McDerrmott you can listen to in front of the kids. Same action packed story lines mixing history, fiction, fact and myths but without the bloody battle descriptions and four letter words. This is a mix of a "today" story line full of techno wizardry and villans; but combined with the classic Greek myths that actually makes the Greek myths sound more believable than Homer did. I could never understand how Odysseus could get lost in the Meditterranean Sea for years....until now

From the best-selling author of Seven Deadly Wonders and Contest comes a thrilling racing adventure. In the world of the near future, the most popular sport is hover car racing. Superfast and dangerous, its heroes are the racers: part fighter pilot, part race-car driver, all superstar. But to get to the Pro Circuit, you must first pass through the International Race School, a brutal cauldron of wild races on even wilder courses, where only the best of the best will survive.

Wow different from Matthew's other books but every bit as good. Some artistic licence taken and some imagination needed but it works. Car racing of the future but he has nailed bringing it all together. I am 52 and very much enjoyed it so ages 8 to 68 pick it up and give it a go.

NEW YORK CITY, USA. Archaeologist Nina Wilde's life has fallen apart - her husband, ex-SAS soldier Eddie Chase, is on the run, falsely accused of murder. Her only diversion has been investigating the origin of three strange statues stolen from her just before his disappearance. When Nina discovers they may be dangerous relics from the lost civilisation of Atlantis, it's clear that she has to get back in the game, and fast.

What made the experience of listening to Temple of the Gods the most enjoyable?

The strong man and wife team of Eddie and Nina but from differing worlds of the SAS and archeology combine well to make this story revolving around ancient cities from mythology and the destruction of the civilisations involved make this a very good read/listen. Similar story style to Matthew Reilly ... Just as fast but with added touches of fun relationships make this story a great read. Based around mythical history it is believable and Andy makes the strory plausable. This is my first story from Andy and while I wish I had read the other books first (in order) this story does stand up well as a standalone book and very much worth the read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Temple of the Gods?

For me this audiobook was really brought to life by the reader. He handled the accents very well and this is especailly the case with Eddie being a Yorkshire man. While I live in Australia I was born in Yorkshire and loved listening to this reading. The story starts with Eddie and Nina apart but brings them back together in a wonderful way and then whips the action up.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The final battle. ... not overdone and it was kept believable but full of action and the occasional surprise.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end. it was a bit .... well I shall not spoil the end but it ios worth the jouney there

    Any additional comments?

    worth the read

An old Soviet weapons installation in the Arctic has fallen into disrepair. Known as Dragon Island, the facility is home to a next-generation weapon with the potential to unleash a destructive force upon the world that was developed during the Cold War and subsequently forgotten. When a terrorist organisation known as the Army of Thieves takes control of the fortified island and activates the weapon, a small band of Marines and civilians is sent in to stop them.

    Story
If you could sum up Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves in three words, what would they be?

Another blinder in the Scarcrow series and a breathtaking recovery for Schofields who seemed ready to be put out to greener pasture. But the real hero of this story is the story teller in the form of Sean Mangan. I can never imagine listening to anybody else tell these fast paced stories of Matthews. He really seems to live the stories he tells and brings not only the story to life but he becomes each and every character. Hats off to you yet again Sean

Which character – as performed by Sean Mangan – was your favorite?

All, Male or Female...Good or bad Matthew writes a very diversified cast to his stories but Sean brings a deeper meaning to all of them. Matthew writes a brilliant story but was blessed in the story teller. I cannot read a fiction novel.... Have never been able to embed myself into stories I know are not real. But I live life on the road as a sales rep (working out of Matthews home city of Sydney) and have all of Matthews books in Audiobook form. My biggest problem now is dragging myself away to do my work and can often be found parked on the roadside.... too involved with the story to even drive. This unique combination of Matthew and Sean is just 110% adrenalin rush

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The slow turning point in his recovery from losing Gant...I have not recovered yet

    Any additional comments?

More Books Matthew (Please do not let your own sad loss slow you down...we all feel for you) and please keep the team of Matthew and Sean together
