There were too many side stories for my liking. My mind started to wander after a while.
I wanted to like this book and the way it started out was very promising. However, the chase for the ripper was too meandering and tedious. I ended up skipping chapters just so I could see how it ended, only to find that I didn't care anymore.
The narrator is terrific in the telling of this wonderful story.
Simon always does a great job. It's even moe noticeable when he has good material to work with. This book allowed Simon to shine!
Very good story.
I absolutely loved this book. I found the characters so interesting and engaging. I couldn't wait to find out what happened along the way. The book is well read and just left me with such a fulfilled feeling when it was done.
I actually liked this story overall and would probably have enjoyed it a lot more if there had been a better narrator. Emma Galvin pretty much reads the entire story in a dull monotone voice that at times had my thoughts drifting elsewhere. It was hard to listen to her for extended periods of time since her voice just made me sleepy. A decent story overall though.
