In the third volume of The Dark Tower, Roland, the last gunslinger, is moving ever closer to the Dark Tower that haunts his dreams and nightmares. But he is no longer alone. He has trained Eddie and Susannah, who entered Mid-World from their separate whens in New York City in The Drawing of the Three, in the old ways of the gunslingers. But their ka-tet is not yet complete.

I am giving this book 5 stars as it is a great read by a brilliant author, but I will say that so far, the second is my favorite. The drawing of the three was just so diverse, it felt like 3 books in one. This book will not disappoint though. It continues to dwelve deeper in this strange world which boasts new characters and keeps your attention. As great as this novel is, the fact that Frank Muller is the reader adds even more enjoyment for the audience. Stephen King is one of the best authors of all time for a reason. His works ( even if most film adaptations are so-so at best ) are a privilege to read. I am currently reading part 4, Wizard and Glass, and will post a review.

Like most people left behind on an over-populated Earth, police detective Elijah Baley has little love for either the arrogant Spacers or their robotic companions. But when a prominent Spacer is murdered under mysterious circumstances, Baley is ordered to the Outer Worlds to help track down the killer. Then he learns that he has been assigned a partner: R. Daneel Olivaw. Worse, the R stands for "robot" - and his positronic partner is made in the image and likeness of the murder victim!

I have a friend who said he read this trilogy in school years ago. This is the first book in the trilogy, and I enjoyed it very much. The story is easy to follow, and the narrator does a great job. The story will not have as many dimensions as a 26 hour Stephen King novel, but keep in mind it is only 7 hours. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the logical angle of what it is to deal with robots governed by the 3 laws.

Stephen King returns to The Dark Towerin this second, mesmerizing volume in his epic series. After his confrontation with the man in black at the end of The Gunslinger, Roland awakes to find three doors on the beach of Mid-World's Western Sea, each leading to New York City but at three different moments in time. Through these doors, Roland must "draw" three figures crucial to his quest for the Dark Tower.

This is a great book to follow the gunslinger. I personally thought this was a far better book than the first, and urge anyone who read the first to read ( listen ) to this one and will definenately leave you wanting more. Although it is a series of 7, this book does not leave you dangling so to speak. Obviously the story continues, but not in some cheap soap opera type manner. I don't want to mention specifics, but this my one my top 5 books of all time. I am currently listening to the 3rd book in the series and will post a review for each volume. I don't know how Steven King comes up with these great stories, but his talent is evident here. A And I only give a handful of books my A . Others of my favorites include, The lion's game, The Runaway Jury, and The Doomsday Conspiracy.
