I always thought I could easily overcome a bad reading of good content but this reader barely seperates his sentences. There is no time to absorb any of the content before he is off to the next idea and you are left wondering how the heck he is even breathing. It's not suppose to be a race to the end - I'll probably buy the book.
Thank you Brandon Sanderson for staying true to the style and feel of Robert Jordans work, Mr. Jordans widow made the right choice in choosing you to carry on with the Wheel of Time finale.
I'm dedicated to get finishing the whole WOT series, but this one almost made me want to listen in double speed just to get through it. Also, the editing is terrible.... about 20 times the recording was repeated in about 30 second spans. Irritating to hear it happening AGAIN but necessary to mark this book as finished. Nice to find out what happened with Oliver and Matt since book 9 never said after book 8 left us with a cliffhanger.
.........where is Oliver??? That is all I want to know. No Matt, no Oliver in this book.
Absolutely loving this storyline. I will not give any spoilers but will just post enough to say my audible platinum 2 credit a month subscription is not enough to satisfy my need to know what happens next in the Wheel of Time series. I just finished book 4 and need book 5 now!
I'm pretty sure the best compliment an author would ever want is that the book is too short. Yes. I am in need of knowing what happens next. More please Mr. Sanderson and of course, the incredible narrator Michael Kramer. How do you do all those accents and voices anyway? Wow!
I was searching for another series to fall in love with... this is it! I went through the first 3 books of the series in about a week. I was working and sneaking to listen as much as I possibly could. I am now officially a Brandon Sanderson, Michael Kramer fan!
I've been an audible addict for years, but have only recently given fiction a try when I started out with the Iron Druid Chronicles and was hooked. I was looking for another series and came upon this one. I listened to this book expecting to devour the remaining books in the series, but I don't think I'll order the others. I think it may be Luke Daniels, the narrator for the Iron Druid Chronicle series that I am comparing this to and why I am not so pleased with the performance of this book. Every male character came off speaking as bored and unemotional as to what they were saying. Pia came off so often as a immature, and defensive.... irritatingly so, even though in many areas I felt that the author may have not intended it to be so. I thought if I were reading it myself or if the narrator had just not tried to perform each male character in such a way, I might like it more. There were also so many 'big guy' comments that I started rolling my eyes when hearing them. As far as the sex goes, I understood it, but thought that throwing in a quick non tender sex scene in the last 3 minutes of the book was over the top. Just my opinion and I am about go and seek out some reviews of the Iron Druid Chronicles in hopes that I can see what other books reviewers there liked. Maybe I ruined myself for other fiction series since it was just that good???
