When three bodies turn up in rapid succession, all in landfills or waste disposal dumpsters, rookie cop Georgia Davis is drawn into the investigation. Teaming up with her detective boyfriend Matt and his friend, Detective Sergeant John Stone, Georgia must work out who's responsible for the killings, but there's little evidence to go on. The case also tests the strength of Georgia's relationship with Matt - complicating the situation is the daughter of a real estate mogul, who also happens to have her eye on Matt. Who's behind these gruesome killings?

I am sure I will listen to this again. I normally listen to single narrators so this was an adjustment for me with the duo...who both performed superbly and it made my adjustment period very brief.

The author did a great job weaving the plot twists, relationships, and the back story that created a horrific and sadly believable story. Treachery, tragedy, dreams, and devotion. Great combo.

I have already added the other audio books to my wish list.

It's a "three-pipe problem"! Holmes and Watson are in for another rousing adventure in classic Holmesian style. They are joined by their erstwhile friend, Inspector Lestrade, and aided by the Baker Street Irregulars; Holmes' brother, Mycroft; and Mrs. Hudson, who is always there with a hot cup of tea. Holmes and Watson are also joined by some new friends, including English royalty, the Fenians, an Indian illusionist, and the beautiful Susan Spaulding, whom Watson finds devastatingly alluring.

I enjoyed the story very much. The narration, for some reason, didn't enhance the story as much as I was hoping, so 4 of 5 stars for that part. I liked the characters and Holmes & Watson seemed true to form to me... Holmes clever, reserved, and mysterious and Watson hooked by a pretty face with his trusting heart. I appreciated the historical aspects too.

An escaped cannibal, a family curse...and Reginald Worcester turning up on the doorstep. Could things get any worse for the Baskerville-Smythe family? As the bodies pile up, only a detective with a rare brain - and Reggie's is so rare it's positively endangered - can even hope to solve the case. But...there is the small matter that most of the guests aren't who they say they are, the main suspect has cloven feet, and a strange mist hangs over great Grimdark Mire. Luckily, the young master has Reeves, his automaton valet, and Emmeline, his suffragette fiancée, on hand to assist.

They make me laugh .... the excellent delivery of clever, no punches pulled, material that provides a festive look at how serious we can take ourselves. I had to pause the story especially to laugh long, loud, and hard at the cause of tweet typo!

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all.

When Douglas B. Douglas - leading light of the London theatre - premiers his new musical extravaganza, Blue Music, he is sure the packed house will be dazzled by the performance. What he couldn't predict is the death of his star, Brandon Baker, onstage in the middle of act two. Soon another member of the cast is found dead, and it seems to be a straightforward case of murder followed by suicide.

Not too long from today, a new, highly contagious virus makes its way across the globe. Most who get sick experience nothing worse than flu, fever, and headaches. But for the unlucky one percent - and nearly five million souls in the United States alone - the disease causes "Lock In": Victims fully awake and aware, but unable to move or respond to stimulus. The disease affects young, old, rich, poor, people of every color and creed. The world changes to meet the challenge.

This novel is a brilliant first-person narrative of the rise and fall of the Norse gods - retold from the point of view of the world's ultimate trickster, Loki. A number-one best seller in the UK, The Gospel of Loki tells the story of Loki's recruitment from the underworld of Chaos; his many exploits on behalf of his one-eyed master, Odin; through to his eventual betrayal of the gods and the fall of Asgard.

Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Surêté du Québec and his team of investigators are called in to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal. Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines, just north of the U.S. border, has been found dead in the woods. The locals are certain it’s a tragic hunting accident and nothing more, but Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods, and is soon certain that Jane Neal died at the hands of someone much more sinister than a careless bowhunter.

I laughed often at the clever quit of the author... Christmas carols will never be the same. Along with the humor, I enjoyed the characters and relationships of the people of Three Pines, and the reflected theme of troubled youth and the solution. The murder mystery was expertly written in with these other elements and was enhanced by the excellent narration.

This novel is indeed a morality tale about the hazards of egotistical self-indulgence. Dorian Grey's pact with evil allows his portrait to take on his many sins and degradations while his physical appearance remains youthful. Over the years as he becomes cruel and vicious, even murderous, Dorian's young and perfect body is no longer enough to salvage his deteriorating mind and morality. Will justice and good prevail?
