"endless jim butcher templates and so little asher"
original gritty interesting
made me laugh alot
audible continues to produce and present cookie cutter sci fi and doesnt do any more of ashers works I wish they would change.
"NONE BETTER NONE"
I first read the Gunslinger when I was fourteen and I loved it then , I am now thirty eight and Iove it as much now as ever roland is a hero and he lets the world be the anti hero he spends very little time whinning about how he doesnt want to be what he is stephen king wrote a very simple beginning to a very complex story , I adore this book.
roland burning circles into his fingertips as he fought the people of tulll.
the hostler
yes many times
if you dont like it then you are a dope
"Its total bs I love it"
no the narrator isnt that good
no this is a very very dot to dot plot
yes but just good
people have written that the book is a little technical term heavy , that is a gross understatement, while listening to it I thought of many alternate titles , my to favorites were,
Gadgets and weapons I like and situations I have Imagined using them in, and, I cant wait to commit mass murder and this is the situation that would make it ok.
this book is very entertaining , it starts out kinda extremist god gun anti society and around three quarters thru it takes a sharp turn to the right.
one quote that stuck in my head was "our children will grow up in a free god fearing country"
the author is so backward thinking , that the book becomes entertaining
apparently one jew and two blacks will survive the fall. and the two blacks dont appear until the last frame deffinate I am not racist tacked on chapter.
this book came off like a parody to me I loved it
"feels like stuff found in joss whedons trash"
its milk toast so it could have benefited from a harder edge
no
no , but he didnt have much to work with
harry
I like the premise but it feels like its all been done better, I have said before that this series sounds like scooby doo meets buffy the vampire slayer and after putting more credits into it my opinion hasnt changed.
"say one thing about joe A, say hes a master"
yes because its that good It doesnt get better than this , its like deadwood mixed with conan, mixed with indiana jones mixed with the thirteenth warrior mixed with.....
shy because she reminds me of vin (mistborn)
lamb
the thing is full of mments that made go YES
mr A writes the best dark fantasy available and while some of the story feels like I have heard it before it still works, ie I know the guy who allways looks out for himself , will see the light and do the right thing ,but I cant wait to hear it .
and I have never listened to a whole book waiting to hear the protagonist say a name his name I can picture him with blood dripping down his chin saying "I AM L&%@# N&N% F&*(@R% you M*^HERFK%R
"I dont et it"
the lack of detail
ehh
nothing special monotone nothing to like here
it was about space and fighting giant bugs
skip it see the movie
"people I dont like doing things I dont care about"
yes reading and kramer are great and do well with good material like the way of kings
come up with original ideas
pros reading tripe
ths whole series is bsed on ideas other writers have used more skillfully but at least its not read by john lee
"roys old and tired and still makes this book sing"
martin has created a series in which even the most marginal characters are compelling , however much you love the starks you will hate the lannisters frays and boltons more , this series is unique in that the ones you want to win NEVER do but you still root for them.
brienne hanging
sam
arya kills someone
I cant overstate the improvement of roy dotrice over john lee . lees narration was hard to folow and over acted while roy feels like an old friend
"I really wanted to like it so I did"
yes, I would because of the time travel elements and the insuling parakeets
If I could answer that I would spend alot less money on audiobooks.
fitting for style
yes
the series goes down hill from the first book this one feels new and fresh but by the middle of the second book I found myself longing for something new.
"audible needs to mark religious bs more clearly"
I would like to say, anyone whos life was changed in any way by this book is an idiot, but since I am forced by society to treat religion with the respect I would give any other mental illness ,I will say if you aint way into the jesus fairy then avoid this book.
