Not in this lifetime!
This story had so many factions I couldn't figure out who anyone was or whose side they were on. The time period is strange to recognize as there are humans, angels and shadows that exist all at the same time, and the other than natural beings . . . are wearing jeans?
I never knew what side of the portal the story existed; when I thought they were out of human reach, humans showed up after hiking through the desert. The romance part was ill and the plot worse. If you like listening to something that never has or comes to a point, this is your book; otherwise don't waste your time unless you like to be bewildered. This book is like a 12 cylinder engine never running on more than two cylinders at any time.
Something plausible and interesting, unlike Ms. Taylor's.
She did OK; I had no problem with the narration; but the content? Oh, my word!
Not that I could find. Although the story is confusing, there is an overpowering theme of morbidity. The sophomoric human romance did not combine well with the morbid theme.
I think I've said enough.
