"Fun listen!"
She really made me laugh in a couple of parts, but you have to really listen to this. Star Wars fan or not, you will appreciate it if you grew up with all the rage of the movie. This is a book I would re-listen to just for fun!
"A good read!"
I love how she lets it all out and doesn't hold anything back. Honest and fun to listen to! If you can't handle that Brooklyn accent, then read the book, but I loved it!
"Loved it!"
This is a great book! She was open and candid about her, her mother, her father and all that she has gone through with depression. You can tell in some segments that she is a bit tired, then others she is more upbeat in her vocal tone. All in all, it was such a fantastic book that I "liked" her Facebook page and invited her to lunch in July when I go back to California. Whether she takes the invite or not, who knows, but she is the type of personality that I could really connect with. My favorite part is the last, when she speaks of the time she finally had with her father, Eddie Fisher.
"Great book! Slow narrator...."
Great!
The honesty about is life, feelings and revelations in his life.
All of it....
Yes, when he said he still loves Maria....
Wonderful book! He laid it all out there! The narrator is slow, so I sped it up and it was a lot better. If you have that option, do it. Other than that, Arnold speaks during the first and last part of the book.
"Absolutely loved it!"
Even though each sister or contributor, was introduced when it was their time to speak, it didn't bother me. This is a TOTAL history of Rock N Roll from the early 70's to now....what a treat! I could just imagine how each of them felt when they met their idols! They connected with everyone in the music biz and it is amazing! I love how they get personal and tell their side of their lives, whether they were together or not....great family insight to their personal and VERY personal relationships. I have never been a BIG fan, but always loved their originals, like Barracuda, and always enjoyed their music. When they did All I Want To Do, I didn't like that era...and they felt it too....if you grew up with good and great rock in the 70's until early 2000's, then this is for you. Even if you hardly know or listened to them, for these ladies to lay it out there verbally, took ALOT of balls! You won't be disappointed!
BOTH!
ALL!
YES!
Loved it!
"Too long for me, but good info..."
For me it went on too long and too detailed....it was hard to grasp the story line....maybe it was me.
This book is VERY long and detailed. If you like historical fiction, then this is for you. I love history, but I want REAL history and this was just too much for me, because it was about a fictional family.
"Good book, slow narrator, speed up your player!"
Very informative and disturbing at the same time
How much our government hides and lies to us
The narrator, George K. Wilson, is good, but he drags it on so slowly. It is just the way he reads. I found a setting feature on my sansa clip where I can speed up the vocal speed. That REALLY helped! Put it this way, he is slow enough that when you speed it up, he hardly sounds like a chipmunk.
none
Great info, glad I can speed up narrator, and scary at the same time. Makes me wonder where this country, or this world for that matter, will be after I am gone from this world. It sounds scary!
"WOW! Freaked me out!"
I would not listen to this book again....very deep and scary to listen to. This really bothered me and made me lose faith in ANYTHING!!
If you cannot handle the
