Here, together for the first time, are the shorter works of best-selling author Jim Butcher - a compendium of cases that Harry and his cadre of allies managed to close in record time. The tales range from the deadly serious to the absurdly hilarious.

Brian says: "Know what sucks about this book?"
"Great book, unusual for books with short stories"
    Overall

Jim Butcher writes some very compelling short stories in his book Side Jobs. I am not a fan of short stories but I gave this a try. I loved every story in the book.

I would highly recommend reading the series in order though, before reading this book. It will make more sense if you undertand the characters and plot lines going on.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

Bill says: "Not the best audio book in the series"
    "Freaking awesome"
    Overall

Love it, love it, love it. Only Jim Butcher could write a book that can have so much imagination, creativity and great story telling. Only recommend though if you read all the books in the series first, otherwise, it wont make much sense. Start at the beginning and enjoy the ride. May Chewbacca live forever.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

"Talented story teller - Great story to tell"
    Overall

Not only was this a great story, Patrick Rothfuss tells it in a way that captivates you. It pulls you in and makes you feel like you are one of the characters.

Great book, can't wait to read the next in the series.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Lore says: "Wow - 45 hours long and leaves you wanting more!"
"Epic Fantasy without the unnecessart details"
    Overall

Awesome book. Great Epic Fantasy. Unlike other prolific fantasy writers, Sanderson concentrates on the important storylines, while still giving an epic feel to the story. Great read. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

Nicole says: "You love it or you hate it..."
    "The Passage - awesome read"

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. The book is a combination of epic fantasy, scifi, and horror.

    Great book, recommend for everyone.

In just a few short years, Richard K. Morgan has vaulted to the pinnacle of the science fiction world. Now he turns his iconoclastic talents to epic fantasy, crafting a darkly violent, tautly plotted adventure sure to thrill old fans and captivate new readers.

Tizroc says: "This isn't your father's gay hero!"
    "not worth the money"
    Overall

I thought that this would be a different type of fantasy novel, and it was. It was so bad, I really wish I could get my money back. I tried listening, and felt like I was going to get sick.

The book had graphic sex scenes, beyond any normal book. They weren't believable, and the characters made no sense at all. They had no common sense. The heroes weren't even a little bit interesting.

    Don't buy it.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Lore says: "Book 1 of a great series that is not to be missed!"
"MIstborn best Trilogy ever - Fantasy"
    Overall

Best Fantasy series in past 20 years hands down. I am so impressed that someone can come up with a brand new concept, great characters, and still make the plot and script entertaining.

    Awesome, keep it up Brandon
