The first book of James Thompson’s Inspector Vaara series won immediate critical acclaim for a sterling tale set in the brutal cold and soul-testing isolation of kaamos, Finland’s two weeks of utter darkness. Even as the unrelenting winter conditions tighten their grip on the residents of the Lapland town, a lovely Somali movie star is found murdered, a racial slur cut into her chest.

Would you try another book from James Thompson and/or T. Ryder Smith?

I would not listen to anotherT.Ryder Smith narrated story. His voice is so slow and boring and his take on the characters are cartoonish.

How could the performance have been better?

    New Narrator!

What if a "Once in a Lifetime" could happen twice? Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable. When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia's life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soul mate.

I was really surprised how much I liked this book. First the narrators we good. I like Veronica Meunch and Christian Fox. Most romance narrators are awful but these two got the tone just right. River Wilde is now one of my favorite romantic leads. It's a great story (gets some tissues for the first few chapters) with a interesting twist at the end.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate - and completely irresistible. A beautiful bastard. Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative - completely infuriating - creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules....

This book is meant to be listened to. Grace Grant is one of my favorite narrators out there because she isn't sappy and over the top melodramatic like majority of actors reading romance novels. Her comedic timing is flawless in this book. It's an adorable, and sexy as hell story about two extremely driven people. I absolutely adored Chloe and Bennett and their volatile relationship.

Seriously, why has Paula Costello on,y narrated one book? It's a sweet and sexy story and a group of really great characters.

Sophie Dempsey wants to help her sister film a video and then get out of Temptation, Ohio. Mayor Phin Tucker wants to play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. But when Sophie and Phin meet, they both get more than they want. Gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, vehicular abuse of a corpse, and slightly perverse but excellent sex: all hell breaks loose in Temptation.

    Story

This is one my favorite audio books. Most romance novels have terrible narration, I find myself picking books as much for the narrator as I do the story or author. The narrator nails this story, gets the edginess and humor of the characters. It's funny and sexy story and the characters are rich and three dimensional. If only most audio books could deliver this kind of storytelling. I have listened to this book more than once and it enjoy it every time

"Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't."

Would you listen to Delirium again? Why?

This is not at all what expected. This is no ordinary YA book, Its for teens and adults alike. The prose are beautiful. There is nothing patronizing, cheesy or trite about this story which some of the other series in this genre fall victim to. Make sure to have a box of Kleenex handy.

What other book might you compare Delirium to and why?

I would NOT compare this book to The Divergence trilogy of Hunger Games.

What about Sarah Drew’s performance did you like?

This is one of the best performances I have heard in a while. She makes the characters so vivid and authentic. She nails each character and captures the tone of young adulthood, the moodiness, chattiness, the emotional intensity of everything.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The relationships with Hannah and Alex are heartbreaking and wonderful.

When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early 40s, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it at first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the town's council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

Where does The Casual Vacancy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

After having listened to many, many books Casual Vacancy may be one of my all time favorites.

What did you like best about this story?

Casual Vacancy has much same genius of the Harry Potter series. J.K. Rowling has a wonderful talent for creating very rich, three dimensional, worlds. The characters in Pagford and are so fascinating, colorful and tragic. I was hooked!

What does Tom Hollander bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hollander is an inspired storyteller, he gets the tone of every character just right.
