What made the experience of listening to Dreamdark the most enjoyable?

The narrator was 100x better in this second book that the first narrator they had. It made the first book unbearable to listen too. I fully enjoyed book 2.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dreamdark?

Herrick and Whisper, most memorable characters. I love Slombie too.

What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?

Everything, she can do a wide array of voices as well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I never want to listen to books all in one sitting.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

What made the experience of listening to Ready Player One the most enjoyable?

I loved all of the references of the 1980s, it was complete nostalgia for me. I also love video games so the two combined is priceless.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved it from start to finish. Even had me emotional at times. It's not a book for everyone and if you didn't grow up in the 80s the references may frustrate ppl. I can currently call it my favorite stand alone book.

What about Wil Wheaton’s performance did you like?

He was good, he spoke at a good speed and had great reflection.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

there were times I did get emotional; teary eyed, and even a moment of chills.

    Any additional comments?

"As terrifying and painful as reality can be, it's also the only place where you can find true happiness...because reality, is real." -James Halliday, Ready Player One

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I listened to the 10th Anniversary Edition which probably I should've listened to the original instead based on some of the other reviews. This audiobook was confusing with too many tangents. There were some parts that were really good and others that were extremely boring and could've been left out. I loved the concept of the story but didn't play out as I expected. I just did not fall in love with this book and wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, or at least the audiobook 10th anniversary edition. I'm disappointed as this was my first Neil Gaiman book, I probably should've started with a different one.

Would you be willing to try another book from Neil Gaiman? Why or why not?

I just downloaded Stardust, I've heard that's more a straightforward "read".

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Whoever spoke as Shadow had no reflection.

Do you think American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition (A Full Cast Production) needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No

Would you try another book from Laini Taylor and/or Davina Porter?

I love Laini Taylor books and can't help to think that if there was a different narrator, I wouldn't enjoyed this book.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

    Different narrator.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Maybe it was the accent, I couldn't get past it and set the speed to 2x just to get through it

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    The storyline was unique
