Repressed scholar Percival Endicott Whyborne has two skills: reading dead languages and hiding in his office at the Ladysmith Museum. After the tragic death of the friend he secretly loved, he's ruthlessly suppressed any desire for another man. So when handsome ex-Pinkerton Griffin Flaherty approaches him to translate a mysterious book, Whyborne wants to finish the job and get rid of the detective as quickly as possible. Griffin left the Pinkertons following the death of his partner, hoping to start a new life. But the powerful cult that murdered Glenn has taken root in Widdershins, and only the spells in the book can stop them.

What would have made Widdershins better?

A better narrator! I could not get past the first 10 minutes of this book, because the narration was so bad. I listen to a lot of audio books and this is by far the worst narrator I have heard.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jordan L. Hawk again?

Maybe if there was a different narrator.

How could the performance have been better?

    Get a different narrator.

Arthur MacArthur needs a job, and not just for the money. Before he dropped out of school to support his younger sister, he loved being a research assistant at the university. But working for a dragon, one of the rarest and least understood magical beings, has unforeseen complications. While Arthur may be the only applicant who isn’t afraid of Philbert Jones in his dragon form, the instant attraction he feels for his new employer is beyond disconcerting.

Nobody knows the real Chase. Chase Summers has a razor blade to his wrist and the smell of his lover's goodbye clinging to his skin. He has a door in his heart so frightening he'd rather die than open it, and the lies he's used to block it shut are thinning with every forbidden touch. Chase has spent his entire life unraveling, and his decision to set his sexuality free in secret has only torn his mind apart faster.

If you could sum up Chase in Shadow in three words, what would they be?

This is the second book in the series. When I first bought this book, I didn't realize it was part of a series and started listening too it and stop after about 20 minutes. I thought a suicide was a horrible way to start a book.

After discovering that this was book 2, I went back and listened to book one "Dex in Blue" and then this book was awesome. The book makes a lot more sense when read in context with the series. The third book in the series is Ethan in Gold. I have really enjoyed this series.

Charlie is the quintessential bear. Big, muscular and hairy. But that isn't the type of men he's attracted to. He is drawn to men like Taylor - short, smooth, and sexy. Taylor is Charlie's idea of the perfect twink. But there's something about Taylor Charlie doesn't know. Taylor is unsure about a lot of things, but when he sees Charlie, he instantly knows he wants him. The only issue standing in his way is how Taylor views his own masculinity. He's afraid that Charlie will leave once he knows the secret Taylor wants to keep hidden.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

this story was extremely predictable. It is very short, only an hour and a half but their was nothing note worthy. The situations were not believable, the characters were not interesting, just overall not a good story.

What could Ethan Stone and Sara York have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

they could have made the characters more interesting and the situations more believable.

Mark certainly knows Bill Cromwell, whom he meets officially when his father volunteers him for manual labor at the school. Bill is his polar opposite: outgoing, gregarious, athletic. But when a massive snowstorm traps the two boys together for three days, Mark learns that being popular doesn't mean you can't be bullied or abused - or gay. And that bullying doesn't stop at the school doors. And that bullying doesn't stop at the school doors.

If you could sum up Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover in three words, what would they be?

I was a little leery about getting this book, because I thought the title was very cheesy. I am really glad that I took the chance. I loved the story! Mark and Bill were very believable characters. I became emotionally invested in their relationship. There was a few lulls in the story, but most if it was a complete page turner.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were very well defined. I felt like I knew these characters.

An erotic gay romance, a suspenseful thriller.... A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case. Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work. He's cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does.
