I loved this book but then I'm a history junkie. Didn't hurt that I have read biographies on FDR and Truman as well. Long but then I didn't want it to end. Nasaw dispelled some of the Joe Kennedy myths for me and now I am even more impressed with this incredibly productive man and his family. Additionally, Hillgartner's reading was excellent. Loved the accents.

Couldn't get through it. Like walking in mud. I hope it ended well but I did not have the patience. Love George Guidall but even he couldn't make this sing.

Great story as long as you love whimsy. Narrator was the best. Wish it were longer.

Hard to imagine such brutality but a fascinating listen. You won't be able to put it down. We've all heard about this death march but the details will wake you up.

I have to admit that I am an apple product enthusiast so that was my initial draw to this book. That said, this book is a great listen from head to toe even if you don't like or use apple products. Jobs is a flawed man and a harsh employer but his story of pursuing perfection is wild, fantastic and worth every minute.

Great book. Great story. But his whole passion was for the woman he loved and when they found each other again, the book very unceremoniously ends. That being said, it was the only disappointment.

If you are fragile, don't listen, but I laughed through nearly every chapter except for the very toughing segments about family and friends. Sure Penn is crude and vulgar but funny, funny, FUNNY and he is so "right on" about god. I was disappointed when it ended because I wanted it to be twice as long.

I loved this book. It held my interest all the way through. Bruce in Van Nuys apparently did read a different book. Loved the Korea sections and the historical insights. The narrator was also great. Don't listen to the paranoid christian reviewers. They see criticism around every corner. This is a very uplifting book without being holier than thou.

I feel ripped off. Black Order was a perfectly good summer read. Some Nazi discovery brought to modern day, a love story, lots of international intrique; then in the last twenty minutes the main characters discover that the antidote to the German invention is prayer and belief in God. These books ought to come wiht a warning: This author has a religious agenda! How cheap!
