A fascinating first hand story of the history of Germany during the rise of Hitler. The life of a foreign correspondent during incredible times is wonderful.
This book is great to read but Scott Brick ruins it by his performance. I've heard him before and been very pleased. He reads this as tho he's reading to a pre-schooler. Love the book, an especially good story. Chose to listen to it also from the description in the Audible magazine but so disappointed. Can't listen to the rest of it.
Yes, know he can be good.
The story itself is great.
I recommend the book wholeheartedly but read only, not to listen to.
Good tips on organizing one's life. Much of this we already know but need reminding. I found it very helpful.
Pure DeMille and his character is right in form. A nice short read when that's what one is looking for.
A bit slow in the beginning but after that it's a roaring white water adventure. A terrific story line and fully developed characters.
Beautiful story, beautifully written and the reader is one of the best. Outstanding!
Best book I've read/listened to in a long time. The reader is excellent.
Not up to Rendell's usual excellence. But the main complaint is the reader....never want to listen to him again. Blurred voice and sounded so old - made all the characters sound like they had one foot in the grave.
