    What made the experience of listening to The Selfish Gene the most enjoyable?

    It brought clarity to my understanding of the beginnings and developments of life.
    I would recommend this book to everyone.


    What about Richard Dawkins and Lalla Ward ’s performance did you like?

    The alternation between voices was a good way of adding notes
    and breaking up sections clearly.
    Both Dawkins and Ward have pleasant voices.

    What made the experience of listening to The War of the Worlds (Dramatized) the most enjoyable?

    I can understand how tuning into the first half of this radio drama
    could have freaked some people out back in 1938.
    It was really well produced.
    The voices are great.

    I'm sure I will listen to it again at some point.

Bradbury's Mars is a place of hope, dreams, and metaphor, where a fine dust settles on the great empty cities of a silently destroyed civilization. It is here the invaders have come to despoil and commercialize, to grow and to learn - first a trickle, then a torrent, rushing from a world with no future toward a promise of tomorrow. The Earthman conquers Mars... and then is conquered by it.

    What would have made The Martian Chronicles: A Radio Dramatization better?

    The voice acting was very hit and miss.
    Some of the voice actors were appalling; unnatural.

    The stories themselves were hit and miss.
    Some were OK, others were cringe inducing.


    Would you ever listen to anything by Ray Bradbury again?

    I might give some of his other work a shot, but with hesitation
    as I am pretty turned off by some of the tripe in this particular collection of short stories.


    What didn’t you like about The Colonial Radio Players’s performance?

    Some of the characters were excrutiatingly over-acted.


    If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Martian Chronicles: A Radio Dramatization?

    Several of the short stories would have been cut entirely.
    The hot dog stand, the return to Earth, the rendezvous with the fat girl... tripe.


    Any additional comments?

    Some of the sound effects were amusing, but I expect that of all sci-fi radio drama.
