Time has passed since the apprentice and his master, Will and Halt, led the Araluens to victory against invaders, and Will is now a full-fledged Ranger with his own fief to look after. The fief seems sleepy - boring, even - until the king is poisoned. Joined by his friend Alyss, Will is thrown headfirst into an extraordinary adventure propelled by fears of sorcery, and must determine who is trustworthy to the king and who is trying to take his throne.

Stuart Blinder is a great narrator, don't get me wrong. But I feel he is wrong for this book, series. A classic like Moby Dick, or like wise stern novel serious and straight forward. But for a book with several deep characters, and jovial humor, he's just wrong for the part.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

I hated I had to sleep, eat, or work while reading this book. Took every opportunity to put on headphones and sneak off.

    Any additional comments?

Great job on this book, and on the 14th installment of Jordens work. Can't wait untill the 15th. And when the Wheel of time stops, I know I will fallow Brandon Sandersons work with the same antisapation. Thank you
