If like historical fiction, this one should be at the top of your list. You forget that he actually died and none of this happened. It seemed so real.
Great story of how our food lands on our plates. He discusses both sides of the potential moral dilemma of being an omnivore. Excellent narration!
If you are a Billy Joel fan, this is spectacular! I thoroughly enjoyed it and even thought the narrator sounded a little like him at times.
Nothing was really wrong with the book. I have listened to every Allon book, and they are starting to sound the same with the plots playing out in similar ways. If this is your first in the series, you'll love it. If you are a big Allon fan, you've probably heard this one before.
Thoroughly enjoyed the book. It gave some great background into the lives of two legends of the sport. I learned more about the race that I thought I knew so well. There were 3 chapters with some scientific background into human performance which was a pleasant surprise. I have no idea why so many others put down the narration. I thought it was just fine.
Good book. Most of the book is spent showing the problems with previous studies. It takes the work of Gary Taubes and furthers it. I like the science that was in "Why We Get Fat". You don't really get much fat science. You get a lot of how fat science has been messed up through the years. If you like both of Gary Taubes' books, this is a good follow-up.
This was somewhat entertaining. I don't know how women think (just ask my wife!), but as a man, we don't think how beautiful a woman nearly every moment we are in someone's company. I tired of hearing how beautiful Christian was. We understand that he is one handsome guy!
As a story, there didn't seem to be much there. It felt like some cheap film trying to fill the gaps between love making. I read it to see what all the fuss was about. I will not be moving on to the next two installments.
This broke the rut that the author had fallen into. Different plot from the last few. The narration was fine but I've been listening to these since the beginning of the series and this is the third voice for Gabriel. It will just take some getting used to.
This is one you almost need to listen to twice unless you are truly engrossed. It really comes together at the end with a surprise, but to appreciate that surprise, it helps to have a solid recollection of the rest of the book. I will listen to this again.
I really enjoyed this book. It did come off a bit to similar to one of his earlier books but was enough different that it was still very enjoyable. If this is your first Jeffrey Archer book, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
