I thoroughly enjoyed this book; Garry was talking about all my favourite shows and it was just so fascinating to hear the producer's/writer's perspective and to get an idea of what goes on behind the scenes. I highly recommend this book. As a PS: Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Garry's Bronx accent, I loved it.
What a way to listen to an autobiography - told by the author himself. And when the author is brilliant comedian Billy Crystal, I was hooked from the first few words. I actually laughed out loud at some of the narrative, fortunately I was listening at home.
Billy, I have always loved your work; now I know a bit about behind the scenes I admire you even more.
I loved this book, couldn't wait to get back to it every time I got in the car; I discovered things about the South and the North that I had never considered before as being relevant; that is, friends who have shared a lifetime of experiences together at West Point, families growing up, sharing holidays together, suddenly confronted with this huge difference in morality. The southerners can't see the problem and want the north to just butt out and mind their own business, the northerners are outraged by the human misery. I found the narration perfect, the inflections in all the right places. I couldn't wait to get to the end to see what happened to their families.
This is a great last novel for Bryce Courtney, an epic story of Australiana from the early 20th century. I really loved this book, I found the narrator to be very entertaining and extremely good..
I feel I wasted my credit on this one; I went off other recommendations but I found it very slow; I couldn't stick with it and jumped to the end just to see what happened.
Another great Michael Connelly story, gets you in at the start and never lets go.
This is an absolutely marvellous read; what an epic journey full of sadness and heroism.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book; having just seen the movie I could really visualise the characters.
Nothing like the movie but enjoyable none the less. However it's a bit disconcerting when the storyline is so different from a movie you absolutely loved!
Found out so much about this enigmatic man - I found the narration very good and the information contained in the book very informative. I'm glad I purchased the book, thoroughly enjoyed it.
