Read The Husband's Secret by this author first and enjoyed the author's style and humor so much, I am working my way backwards with her previously published novels. I enjoyed this very much as well. It makes one reflect on what they would do in a similar situation and I thought the overall story was different. Being a little picky on the narration, I am thinking that the narrator didn't change her voice enough for the different characters, but overall her voice was cute and pleasant.

Marie Bostwick weaves the unforgettable story of four very different women whose paths cross, changing their lives forever. It’s a long way from Fort Worth, Texas, to New Bern, Connecticut, yet it only takes a day in the charming Yankee town to make Evelyn Dixon realize she’s found her new home. The abrupt end of her marriage was Evelyn’s wake-up call to get busy chasing her dream of opening a quilt shop. Finding a storefront is easy enough; starting a new life isn’t....

Good character development. Story is read by the two main characters, switching over every other chapter. You will find yourself rooting for these women and girls. Quilting is one of the main themes in this story, so if you are a quilter you may identify with this story even more.

Ava Catalina is mourning the love of her life and helping her young son grow up without his father. And Frances Latham eagerly anticipates the arrival of a little girl from China - unprepared for the emotional roller coaster of foreign adoption.

Cute story about women in a scrapbooking club. There are some good relationships as we are introduced to the different characters and see how their lives become enmeshed. I think I am sufficiently motivated now to get my five scrapbooks started and completed. My gathering and sorting is done, but time to compile and give as gifts to my loved ones.

Enjoy this series, on the third book right now. The favorite part of the book for me is the gardening thread running through it. Like the strong character of the female boss and matriarch. Not real deep reading, but wanted to keep listening until the conclusion.

From number-one New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr comes the story of four friends determined to find their stride. This honest look at marriage examines the challenges, heartaches, and sacrifices along with the joy in discovering what it means to be a wife, mother, friend, lover - and most important: your true self. Gerri can't decide what's more devastating: learning her rock-solid marriage has big cracks, or the anger she feels as she tries to repair the damage. Always the anchor for friends and her three angst-ridden teenagers, it's time to look carefully at herself.

Enjoyed the four different main characters. Each one is facing their own set of problems and you will be absorbed in the journey. Lots of words of wisdom, and good insight into helping these girls deal with their personal problems. Felt like each of these girls were a case history right out of a therapist's patient files. Would continue reading about their lives if Robyn Carr does a series.

This book had me with the cover. Knew there would be humor mixed in with some spiritual reflection. The right doses of each of these makes it a success. The author is such a real guy that admits he is skeptical about spiritual things. You will probably see yourself in him and feel like you are taking the journey too. It is very enjoyable and will recommend to others.

One special holiday season, Todd hears an ad on the radio from a shelter looking for temporary homes for their dogs during the holiday week. When Todd's parents at last give in to his pleas for this charitable cause, the family is faced with an entire shelter full of dogs needing homes.

This teetered between a 4 and 5 star book, as it wasn't intense or electrifying as what I would deem as criteria for a 5. However; it was a sentimental, heartfelt story for us dog lovers. Shorter story, not a run-on story with a lot of filler, The author did a wonderful job with the voices. If you like dogs and Christmas and want a nice break from your traditional genre, it was very nice. It was the $1.95 Xmas special price too, so can't go wrong with that. Thank you audible for offering this to us listeners.

It was easy listening, somewhat more for younger readers such as 20's/30's. Basically a beach read but with the holiday theme. I don't regret using the credit as it passed the time quite nicely as I worked on Holiday decorating, baking, etc.

Ellen O’Farrell is a bit unusual. She’s a hypnotherapist. She’s never met her father. And she can’t seem to keep a relationship going. (Okay, that’s more normal that we want to admit.) When Ellen meets Patrick, she’s hopeful nevertheless. But when he says he needs to tell her something, she fears the worst. When Patrick reveals that his ex-girlfriend is stalking him, Ellen thinks, "Is that all?" She’s more intrigued than frightened. She’d love to meet her. What she doesn’t know is that she already has.

In the process of reading all the books by this author. Read "The Husband's Secret" first, then "What Alice Forgot" and then this one. Love the writer's style and humor in all her books. Enjoyed the hypnotist's career in the story, but I think I got a little frustrated waiting for things to get resolved; therefore, I am subtracting one star. It is worth the credit if you enjoy Liane Moriarty.

Summer, 1979: A dry, hot Northern California school vacation stretches before Rachel and her younger sister, Patty - the daughters of a larger-than-life, irresistibly handsome (and chronically unfaithful) detective father and the mother whose heart he broke. When we first meet her, Patty is 11 - a gangly kid who loves basketball and dogs and would do anything for her older sister, Rachel.

Not just a serial killer murder mystery, but very much about family dynamics. I feel that girls/women might identify more with this book as it involves the relationship of two sisters and the relationship with their father.
