In his final hours in the Oval Office, the outgoing President grants a controversial last-minute pardon to Joel Backman, a notorious Washington power broker who has spent the last six years hidden away in a federal prison. What no one knows is that the President issues the pardon only after receiving enormous pressure from the CIA. It seems Backman, in his power broker heyday, may have obtained secrets that compromise the world's most sophisticated satellite surveillance system.

Amazon Customer says: "Why all the bad reviews?"
"I love John Grisham and Michael Beck...."
    Overall

To me Michael Beck is the voice of Grisham books, none better. For this book thats as far as I can go. What was the plot? What did he do? What was he arrested for? After all that the end fizzled. I am bummed. John what happened here?? Please don't let your word processor break down, write a new book that I can love as I did all the rest of them... unlike this one.
