I wanted to like this story. I looked forward to a continuation of Bottled Up. Sadly. I had issues with how realistic the actions of teenaged Kenny and Bobby. I mean, really. Two 16 year old boys having tickle and pillow fights? Maybe in days gone by, but when stories are based in the more or less present time, I had serious issues with the believing the characters. I really did find it annoying.


I also was unable to accept the reappeatance of Big Mike, and Bobby's forgiving him for the past. Sure, it's possible to forgive someone who's wronged you horribly, but would it REALLY be that easy to forgive the man who fathered you with his own half sister and then later tried to sexually assault you as a 16 year old kid?

All in all, a disappointment. Save your credit. This is one book that's better passed by.

I have this book in ebook form, and I loved it. But the audio version irritated me to no end. Firstly, misprounced words abound. I'm always annoyed when I come across this, but really, this is the worst I've ever found. "Sequined" pronounced in suck a fasion to rhyme with dined. And that's just one of many. And any time there's a line that says a character laughed or sighed or whatever...the reader does so. In somce cases, I felt this was more annoying and not even fitting to the context it was meant. And don't even get me started on his over the top performance on the more "steamy" scenes. I very seldom come across such horribly annoying narration, so I've gotten lazy about giving it a sample listen before buying, and because I enjoyed this book in its ebook format, I was so excited that I just bought instead of listen. My oversight. Don't do what I did. Sample first, then make your choice.

The story itself is wonderfully written and very touching

The narrator really is over the top and needs to learn how to procounce a great many words before he does this type of work again.

Yes and no.

In my humble opinion, this particular book is a cross between Twilight and J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It's not that it's BAD, as far as books go. It's just nothing special. I almost wish I could go back in time and NOT choose this book. But if you're looking for something with some predictable vampire violence and the standard romance novel combined, you'd probably enjoy this book.
